"The Simmons SDS9 is a 6 voice drum synth: analog bass, digital snare, digital rim-shot A/B, and three analog toms. The digital voices uses 8k or 16k EPROMs with analog filters. The drum synth can be triggered by connecting external drum pad triggers (drum pads not included) or via any external trigger input. There is also MIDI IN/OUT that has been fully tested and working.

The digital drum synth also includes a modulation section that allows you to set the pitch and pitch bend direction. In addition to pitch and pitch bend, there are analog effects such as filters, with resonance, and a unique delay effect. The SDS-9 is a very powerful drum synth and highly recommend downloading the SDS-9 Operation Manual (link below) to read more about the functions available on this Simmons synth."

"Vintage Yamaha SK-15 Analog Combo Organ / Strings / Synthesizer keyboard. Very good cosmetic condition with some scratches and wear from being a 30 year-old instrument. Excellent functional condition and sounds GREAT! Very good Leslie / Tremolo effect with ramp-up / ramp-down speed. All sounds (Organ, Strings, Synth) can be layered which makes for a surprisingly rich sound. Fully polyphonic although only one ADSR for the poly-synth section. Organ section has 5 footings plus percussion. Good keyboard action..."

First patch with Make Noise Function Module. Hold function.

First patch with Make Noise Function Module. Hold function. from joseph raglani on Vimeo.

"Shaky phone camera footage of the first patch I did with the new Make Noise Function module. I'm exploring the "hold" function. I have one channel of the Maths going into the "hold" input while in cycle mode. The Maths channel is cycling at a slower rate than the Function cycle. You can hear the "pause" when the Maths channel hits the Function cycle. I have the Positive output multiplied to both the Optomix (VCA) input and DPO (Osc) 1vlt/oct input. I have the inverted output plugged into the fold..then FM Bus inputs. Adjusting the rise and fall of both the Function and Maths results in some nice crazy sounds. Better quality video to follow."

Update:

Second patch: Make Noise Function module. Hang function. from joseph raglani on Vimeo.
This patch is a simple sequence in which a clock signal is divided by two and input into the Function modules "Hang" feature creating interesting rhythmic patterns.

"SOUNDS FOR A TRS-80" ARP2600 & MAKE NOISE RENE PATCH TUTORIAL from Kip Kubin on Vimeo.

"I was trying to stretch my use of voltage inverters to create more interesting and varied timbres in a sequence using Ring Mod as the sound source.

I also wanted to use the Rene as a playable instrument and allow the grace notes to be random. I'm still wrapping my head around the RENE but it's already has opened me up to new ways of using sequencers in my work."
