"This was the inaugural I/O Synthmeet held in Oakland, California on January 20, 2013. Lots of cool stuff to play with, lots of cool folks and lots of fun!
"This is a quick demo of the new Metasonix S-2000 tube synthesizer. It is similar to the R-54 and R-51 Eurorack modules. But the modulation paths are hard-wired to built-in AD/AR envelope generators. And control is nominally with a ribbon attached to the front panel, although there are also CV and Gate inputs. But I really, really like it because it sounds really cool and gnarly, in ways only that wien-bridge tube oscillators and pentode tube vcas can afaik, without having to patch anyhing up like I normally would in a modular situation.... And I can wear it around my neck and play it like a guitar!
Enjoy!"
Metasonix S-2000 Demo 2

"This is my second demonstration video of the Metasonix S-2000 tube synthesizer instrument.... It's mostly a bit of noodling around I did with the S-2000 and some guitar pedals (wah pedal, a delay and a couple of others)... As you can see, I find this to be a very, very fun instrument, and quite easy to learn how to play (fwiw, both this and the previous video were shot within few hours apart from each other on my first day of having an S-2000).
"An "outdoor performance" featuring 3 Metasonix R55 Thyratron VCOs being controlled by a MakeNoise Pressure Points / Brains sequencer that I am playing like a keyboard (with some of the steps triggering chords, and others playing all 3 VCOs in unison), with the Touch-Gate output from the Brains triggering a Circuit Abbey ADSR Jr envelope generator (that modulates a Metasonix R51 patched as a VCA and triggers another ADSR Jr that modulates a Metasonix R52 VCF).
Enjoy!"

Enjoy!"

"This tutorial video features 2 QMMGs patched as a "resonator" (like those odd silver guitars with names like "dobro" and "tricone"). I play guitar, a synth sequence and (attempt to) sing through it.
In some ways, it isn't quite as precise as the Cwejman RES-4 (a special-purpose module dedicated to resonator-like behavior). But, the QMMGs can be patched in ways the RES-4 simply can't (for example, you can patch in individual feedback amount CVs, for both the high- and low-pass sides of the band-pass-gate/filter with the QMMG patch - you can't do anything even close to that with RES-4 - but then again, most people won't need to).
Enjoy (and it's too bad MakeNoise stopped making QMMGs)!"
QMMG Hooters

"The video shows a somewhat aleatoric performance using feedback from the QMMG Resonator patch with a guitar and a microphone plugged in (via a Doepfer A138M Matrix Mixer), but neither being played or sung through.
I vary the levels of mic and guitar feedback going into the QMMGs by twisting the knobs on the A138M. And I vary the tuned-pitch and feedback amount offsets by twisting the QMMG knobs. I also am using the iTunes visualization of the soundtrack for the kaleidoscope video patterns. And I included footage of some burrowing owls that live around a nearby airport.
The problems with the Polaris are membrane related which are very common for this particular synth. They are repairable or they can be bypassed by using the BCR2000 controller (included in the auction) or any other MIDI Sysex controller

"Up for grabs is an ultra-rare Farfisa Syntorchestra analog synth from 1975. Powers up (needs a good 10-15 minutes to warm up), all keys are working. Poli (polyphonic) section works OK and I have used it on several recordings. Very organic sounding. As for the mono section, only 4 of the 8 presets work and it doesn't stay in tune with the poly section, which is rock solid. After doing some research, it appears the scale tracking needs adjustment. Vibrato works well on both sections. I don't think it needs much to get to 100%..."
