Richter/Malekko Dual Borg Video and Audio Demos
Published on May 6, 2013 buriedintime·42 videos
"***soon i'll make an actual simple walk through video less focused on screaming resonance and more focused on basic features etc.. but i wanted to hear it scream :)
Just got the richter/malekko dual borg. this is just playing around and figuring out a few things and how sharing how it sounds (awesome).
sound source is a saw wave from bubble sound VCOb being fed a few notes from a make noise rene.. good and boring so you can listen to the filter. not trying to dazzle you. :)
modulation is from a pair of envelators. there's no VCA in the patch (other than the dual borg but i didn't put it in VCA mode so... )
as you can tell it can scream and be thick and juicy. i'm impressed the seemingly endless sweet spots and sort of phased detuned unison type sounds that happen under high peaking."
dual borg take 2

"*** audio isn't perfectly synced... but is close... audio ends before the video.. i edited out the end.. it sounded stupid... but left the video long because i'm a lazy american
just put this in the case today. still getting to know it. here are some more sounds churning.
rene feeding notes to a bubblesound VCOb which goes into the dual borg. audio is in borg 2 which is in VCA mode and going out borg 2 as well but module is in serial mode with envelators and later PEG modulating the dual borg.
the envelator is CV in for both borgs. rene unquantized out is being attenuated and fed into the Key input of borg2"

"This unit is a Revision 5 [Rev 5] MKS-80, as the Serial # is: 542617 (as seen in auction photos).
If you're reading this auction description, then you know what the MKS-80 Super Jupiter is capable of. The Super Jupiter is arguably one of the most sought after vintage synth modules ever made. It's great sound is due in part to the classic analog Roland technology in its filters, modulation capabilities and a thick cluster of 16 analog oscillators at 2 per voice. The MKS-80 brings improved programming from the Jupiter-8. It's pulse width and PWM are independent, envelope polarity is per-destination, and sync can be used with cross-mod for almost digital sounds - on top of the ability for velocity & after-touch response. It comes in a 2 space rack-module - no keyboard here. Sounds can also be split into upper & lower outputs. Tons of editing capabilities with the MPG-80. It's got all the classic sounds of the Jupiter synthesizers & so much more. An excellent choice for ambient drones, pads, blips, buzzes and leads..."
