STG Soundlabs Digital Attenuators

via Suit Et Tie Guy on Facebook

"Well now that the front panels are on the way and WMD has the PCBs and will be able to manufacture these for me after Knobcon, I think it's safe to throw up the sales page.

"The Digital Attenuators module is 3 digitally-controlled analogue attenuators (use them as VCAs) with a multipurpose sidechain input and switchable AC/DC coupling in 1MU. Each cell is built around a microcontroller and a digital potentiometer (an IC which functions as a digitally-controlled resistor pair, essentially), because only the digital potentiometer and unity i/o buffers are in the signal chain this is an extremely clean VCA.

A benefit of this arrangement is being able to read the audio input into the microprocessor and only update the digital potentiometer at the zero crossings of the input signal. no more irritating clicks on sine wave bass! in addition, the sidechain input can be used to send a different signal for reference to the zero crossing detector, which can also be switched to look for triggers or switched off completely so the digital potentiometer is updated constantly..."

Game Show Revolution by Milkrota 2013

"More fun with the Minibrute, all monophonic parts are the Brute, the polyphonic stuff is a Novation KS5. The drums are a Roland MC307. The samples I rediscovered whilst listening to some old tapes, they must be taken off the radio probably back in the very early 80's."

"Vintage Keys is a musical instrument whose sounds are based on digital recordings of the classic keyboards of yesteryear. But despite the name, Vintage Keys is not strictly limited to vintage sounds. The vintage keyboard samples are simply the starting point for you to take off in any direction.

To begin with, Vintage Keys contains eight megabytes (internally expandable to 16 megabytes) of the highest quality 16 bit samples selected from the Emulator III sound library and stored in ROMs for instant access. You now have virtually every major keyboard ever made beneath your fingers. These sounds have been used on literally thousands of hit recordings over the years. They're all here, without recording problems, unreliability and the hassles of moving heavy equipment.

Vintage Keys gives you the ability to literally take the sounds apart and reassemble them into a limitless number of entirely new sounds, combining parts of one sound with another or with any of a selection of digital waveforms also stored in ROM. For example, the attack of a flute can be faded out as a vocal pad is faded in, giving you a completely new sound! The dynamic 2 and 4 pole filters allow you to shape and mold your sound in order to exactly duplicate classic synthesizer sounds. The 16 bit samples are arranged into 512 preset locations, 256 of which are user-programmable.

Vintage Keys also features 32 voice polyphony allowing you to take full advantage of its layering capabilities (up to 8 sounds on each key) and its ability to respond multi-timbrally to all 16 MIDI channels makes it ideally suited for multitrack sequencing and composing using a MIDI sequencer.

Other features include 3 stereo outputs for individually processing sounds (also configurable as 6 polyphonic submixes with fully programmable panning), integral sends and returns to allow the addition of external effects units without the need for a separate mixer, user definable alternate tuning, and of course, an extensive MIDI implementation..."

via this auction

"You are bidding on a BLUE Roland SH-101 and a Kenton Pro Solo Mk1. For those who don’t know, the SH-101 is a monophonic synthesizer from the early 1980s, manufactured by Roland. It features one oscillator with 3 simultaneous waveforms, an 'octave-divided' square sub-oscillator, triangle and square/pwm waveform. It has a low-pass filter/VCF capable of self-oscillation. The controls are simple to use as there is a slider or switch available for every single parameter. The Kenton Pro Solo Mk1 is a CV to MIDI converter which is essential for using the SH-101 with a DAW as it converts control voltages into MIDI messages..."
