The Nord Lead 3 departed from the characteristic Nord Lead sound of the 1 and 2, which later returned again in the Nord Wave and now the 4.  It is definitely an interesting synth in history.

"The Red Square V2 is a analogue monophonic, patchable synthesizer with 1/4" jacks housed in a rugged 19" 5U metal case.

VCOs feature separate glide controls. Waveforms are triangle, saw and square and each has a dedicated level control. VCO1 has additional sync input and a sub-oscillator that is routed directly to the mixer. The mixer blends noise, ring mod and an external signal as well. 24dB Moog filter with CV resonance control and cross modulation from VCO1. VCA with 3 modes (EG1, Gate, Thru). EG1: attack-release with switchable sustain. EG2: ADSR with positive and inverted output. VC-LFO with saw, inv saw, square, triangle. Other features are Sample&Hold, Midi/CV-interface, three sets of multiples and a headphone output."
