Blue Lantern Diode Operator VCF Filter Module

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"The Diode Operator Station VCF is an analog filter based on the Steiner Diode array. You patch a 'sound' module like a VCO or Noise Generator into one of the input jacks. You then use the big knob to filter out frequencies and become a star.

There is an on board VCA internally connected to the final output. The vca is turned fully counter clockwise for normal operation. This will allow sound to pass 100%. When you would like to use the module for regular mono synth action you turn the vca knob until the sound is 'closed' or gated. Simply patch an envelope generator to the 'cv' input and turn up the knob. The envelope generator will open the vca. There is also an ouput line level rca jack that you can use to record straight to your daw in mono.

Features

Cutoff Control
Rez Control
Bi-Polar FM Control
Mixable Lowpass, Bandpass, Highpass Level Controls
Charm Control for Wavefolder Variation
VCA with CV level
12dB LP, BP, HP mixable Analog Filter and Diode Wave Folder"

"The Korg Poly Six is a six voice programmable synthesizer, originally released by Korg in 1981. It features chord memory and unison voice modes and an arpegiator. It has 32 user modifiable memory presets. Its 4-pole voltage-controlled filter gives the PolySix a warm, rounded and organic sound. Built in effects include Chorus, Phase and Ensemble (using a 'bucket brigade' analog delay line design), to provide a full, fat sound.

The PolySix was considered revolutionary at the time of it's release. "Korg developed the PolySix with an eye on the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 trying to provide some of the features found on the more expensive synth in a compact, reliable and much cheaper design."* The PolySix has been so loved that several software emulations of the Poly Six have been created for PC, Mac OS-X, and iPad. This true analog synthesizer has a warm sound and lots of knobs for real time expression and programming. It has been used by many of the great masters of electronic and progressive rock music..."

Pearl Syncussion SY-1 Analog Drum Synthesizer

"This is the Pearl Syncussion SY-1 from 1979.

It's simple to look at, but is capable of a wide range of highly distinctive sounds, kicks, snares, crashes and some really weird bleeps as well.

These are *rare* you don't see them coming up for sale very often.

It was used widely in early disco to create some pretty cheesy drum synth noises, but has also featured it a lot more since then. It has a classic sound that is very hard to emulate..."

"3 channel input single-space rackmount filter...

This is a unique unit that has analog filters and triggers for multiple purposes, you can trigger the filter from an LFO to effect your other signals. I used it with multiple oscillators, cheapo synthesizers, and guitars, sounds really unique."

Seven fingers and a sound machine

BEEP BEEP. BLOOP BLEEP. Switched On Road Runner and Coyote Cartoon

Road Runner and Wile E Coyote modular sound effects. Impressive.

"3 classic Chuck Jones produced Road Runner and Wile E Coyote cartoons get the Borax hacks. All sounds generated from a portable eurorack synthesizer.

Consider the recursion of Coyote, who never eats, but only considers eating, ad infinitum. This barren, craggy, dry universe is more like a Mandlebrot purgatory with an endless supply of Acme weapon products which can't function predictably, or whose proper function can't be apprehended by Coyote.

Every ravine, every rocky outcrop, every national road that splices the desert is generated anew each time Coyote is forced not to die - his bones regenerate, his cardiac arrests are all false. He can be skinned alive a million times a million times.

This routine unravels from a spool that was never wound. Is this because of artifice that such toil is even noticeable? Why contrive a purgatory like this when heaven can be imagined? Or would every heaven ever dreamt only appear as purgatory to enlightened eyes?"
