"Here we have a Rare and Vintage Nord Clavia DDRUM PLUS! 8-bit Digital Analogue Drum Synth Module Synth

7 x Modules, currently set-up as:

KICK
SNARE
RIM (SNARE)
TOM 1
TOM 2
TOM 3
TOM 4
(Plus of course the Power Supply/Headphone Module)

Each channel has 4 kits. With ‘Pitch’, ‘Bend’ ‘Decay’, ‘Treble’, ‘Bass’ and ‘Level’ options.

The ddrrum has been fully tested, all works well except the kick module which seems to work well at one sitting, yet plays up on others. I suspect it might be an easy fix for someone in the know?

In addition, the great thing about these modules, is that sounds are on EPROM chips. So if you’re after some very specific sounds, there are quite a few ‘bods’ out there who would be willing to help you out and set you up!

I’d say current kits are very ‘ddrum’ with others reminiscent of Simmons SDS-V SDS 7."

Kind of interesting that KORG went with green font for the box rather than blue like the synth.

Verbos Electronics touchplate keyboard prototype

"This is obviously not about the playing. I'm just showing that the keyboard works. It has a 32 key piano arrangement keyboard with 3 selectable octaves, volt/octave cv, gate, trigger and pressure output, 8 key tunable keyboard with cv, gate, pressure output and a pressure sensitive bender up or down. It adds that human element to the modules it controls."

BEMI Buchla Music Easel Self Generating EG Timbre

"This video provides a demonstration of how one could use the Envelope Generator on the new Music Easel as a self generating variable waveshape modulator to affect any parameter. However, in this case I show it affecting the Timbre offset of the Complex Oscillator. I have the waveshape set to triangle and the timbre set to 0 which yields a sine wave. The Timbre offset that is being modulated affects the harmonic structure of the Complex Osc. vastly. The Preset Voltage source on the 218 is varying the pitch. And I used a touch of the built-in Spring Reverb."

Update: "Babblebot IC for sound synth which sits in the GinSing Arduino shield:
http://www.ginsingsound.com"

Note this is the first GinSing post on MATRIXSYNTH. From their site:

"GinSing is a combination of hardware and software that adds affordable complex waveform synthesis, music, speech, and sound effects to your Arduino project.

The hardware is a build friendly stackable Arduino compatible shield that features the Babblebot IC and an audio amplifier for direct speaker or line level audio output. The software is a simple interface library that lets you take full control of amazing sound capabilities with simple function calls."

"The GinSing hardware is an Arduino compatible shield that sits atop the Arudino microcontroller board. The GinSing board contains:

synthesizer circuit - Babblebot IC, clock, PWM filter
amplifier circuit - NJM386 1 watt audio amplifier and noise stabilization
3.5mm audio jack - for headphone and line level output
sounding LED - indicator when sound is being produced
volume control - gain control for audio amplifier
configuration jumpers - selectable Arduino pin assignments
hi power feed - use up to 18V via external Arduino power jack
board headers - full length through-connects for sheild stacking
speaker pad - to connect external 8-32 ohm speaker
Q pad - software controllable digital output"

LushOne Modular Synth Experiment - Cars by Gary Numan

"Experimental multitracking - using Python, MIDI files are separated in to mono voices suitable for playing on a modular synth. These are then multitracked to create songs. For this demo I have used Cars by Gary Numan. All sounds are from a LushOne modular synth with Base, Contour and Inca modules.

This is the first cut, so very rough."

Water Song

"I wish this track had vocals! Anyhow, this is heavy sample manipulation from the OT. A simple guitar riff and a couple of samples from an old Japanese story book LP and my good the bad and the ugly Japanese edition. The A4 is doing the arp bass and the modular is playing the lead with healthy reverb form both the A4 and the OT.

The modular patch is very simple. It's tri/sine shaped out of the makenoise STO with function controlling the VCA of the ripples. Tides is modulating the shape very slightly. A simple patch but with the reverb just sounds lush to me."
