New Analogue Solutions Nyborg-12 Stackable Desktop Analog Synth

via Analogue Solutions

"Nyborg is part of the Analogue Solutions range of analogue music equipment.

Nyborg is a precision electronic musical instrument.

It combines all the often needed music electronic circuitry to make a music synthesiser in one compact module.

No compromise has been made with the construction of Nyborg. Cheaper options in parts have not been used.

· Full rugged steel/aluminium case - no plastic mouldings

· Good quality smooth potentiometers, fully sealed against dust

· Good quality knobs with spun aluminium caps

· High grade double sided circuit board

· High Quality 16bit DAC for MIDI-CV conversion

· Very stable MIDI to CV

· Very stable analogue oscillators

· Hand built by humans

· True retro analogue voice and modulation circuits to give an authentic retro sound

This synth has NO memories! - Advantages;

None of the parameters or controls are quantised. So when you turn a knob, you are turning a resistor that affects a real analogue circuit.

Because each parameter is not under solid CPU control, each parameter has that tiny analogue drift that adds so much to character.

You are forced to be creative. No reliance on presets! Each time you make a sound you are being original.

Quick, easy and simple to use! WYSIWYG - no nasty menus and sub-menus to change the sound.

Spec:

2 VCOs: each with Tune, Octave, Free run, Pulse width mod, Saw wave, Square wave, Sync, plenty of modulation, CV in

Multimode VCF: 4 filter types, 12dB/octave, Telemark style filter, plenty of modulation, Q boost switch, CV control

VCA, Mixer

2 EGs: with Gate CV in

LFO, Sample and Hold, Noise, Sub Oscillator

MIDI to CV converter - use with your DAW

2 units can be bolted together - and with optional rack ears - rack mounted

2 untis can be played duophonically

4 units can be played quadphonically

note: rack ears & wood are options. Nyborg is sold in single units! Below also show Nyborg optionally paired up or with option wood / rack ears"

Synthrotek Vac-Pak CV over any variable resistor product info and demo

"Have you ever wanted to add control voltage to a parameter on your synth or circuit bent toy? Now you can!

The Vac Pak is a vactrol-based control voltage to variable resistance circuit.
Connect your CV source to the input jack.
Set the Scale and Offset trim pots to dial in your optimal resistance, with a range between ~300 ohms to ~10M (all vactrols are a little different in range).
Connect the wires from J4 to your circuit to make a variable resistor.
Daisy-chain multiple Vac Paks to the same power source using the remaining connector (either J2 OR J3).
Power the Vac Pak with a 9V battery clip (wired to J2 or J3) or with your circuit's on-board voltage source (wired to J2 or J3).
An onboard 5V regulator allows the Vac Pak to be powered with 6-18V DC.
Caution: Do not exceed +10V DC on the CV input, more may burn up your vactrol!"

"This is a short run and will not become a product. I am getting rid of the batch. I kept many for my personal use. Take advantage!

MODEL: EURO FORMAT CMOS PARTY BOOLEAN LOGIC MODULE

SPECS:

4HP WIDE
DEPTH: 1.6 inches
Current: +23mA, -5mA

This is a boolean logic module with all the possible outputs: AND, NAND, NOR, XOR, OR. All possible boolean combinations were made for you. All you have to do is patch a square wave or clock into A, and another one into B. Then just try out all the flavors and patch an output into a sequencer for example to see the clock timing become interesting. There are far more uses for this also. This is a great 'I remember my first logic module...'

There is also inverted logic for each A and B output.
This module is using CD4000 logic IC chips to do it's magic. This module really has no latency and can go audio rate.

Worldwide shipping is about $23.50 USD"

Modular Synthesizer Sound Design

"Sound design for a short film using only a synthesizers.com Portable 22 system. The patch is a LFO combined with a S&H that randomly opens the filter. Download 24/44.1 wav here if you want to use it for your own projects. Let me know if you do! http://bit.ly/10YvFHk

Analog Modular Synthesizer Plays Itself: Patch Diagram

Published on Nov 6, 2014 Karl Wenninger

"A favorite patch of mine using a syntheiszers.com Studio 66 system. There are no sequencers or keyboards used. The trick is to patch an LFO to an audio oscillator and then hard sync it to a third osc. As the LFO tries to sweep the pitch of the audio osc the hard sync forces it to jump to very musical intervals. The LFO is also sweeping the filter cutoff.

When the next set of modules is shown in the vid at 0:32 the patch is duplicated on another audio osc with its output inverted. The inverted output generates a second set of tones.

Audio signals are shown with red cables, control signals in brown.

I've only tried this on a dotcom modular and would like to hear the results of a similar patch on another modular system. Anyone?

I have links to samples using this kind of patch that you can download in the description of some of my other videos posted."

Livewire Chaos Computer, Sport Modulator, RES-4, D-LFO patch

Published on Nov 6, 2014 bigcitymusic

"We discovered a cool use for the Livewire Chaos Computer. In this video a MIDI Fighter is sending MIDI notes to the Pittsburgh MIDI2 module which is tracking the pitch of a Cwejman VCO-6 routed through the Cwejman RES-4.

A new pattern is generated on the Livewire Chaos Computer every time a MIDI note is pressed. Depending on the pattern generated, the Chaos Computer will adjust the bandwidth of the RES-4 bandpass filters. Every generated pattern on the Chaos Computer may or may not advance the Pittsburgh Sequencer which will FM the VCO-6 and determine which channel of the D-LFO will FM the RES-4 (configured via the WMD Triple BiPolar VCA).

The Toppobrillo Sport-Modulator is modulating the trip sync point of D-LFO Ch. 1 and Ch. 2, and the Chaos Computer determines what voltage to apply to the trip sync point CV input based on whether or not the binary triggers the S+H of Sport Modulator Ch. 2, which is being modulated by Sport Modulator Ch. 1."

Nova Musik - Korg microKORG XL+ with Rich Formidoni

"Check out great deals on Korg microKORG XL+ at Nova Musik:
http://www.novamusik.com/instruments/...

Korg USA's Rich Formidoni gives us an overview of the microKORG XL+, including sounds unique to the '+' model and a tour of the front panel interface.

With its unmistakably unique exterior and its inimitable sound, the microKORG set the standard for analog modeling synthesizers. The year 2008 saw the introduction of the microKORG XL, which inherited the microKORG's fat and powerful sounds, while adding keyboard staples such as electric piano and CX-3 organ. And now, in the next evolutionary step, the microKORG XL+ delivers a fresh update to the sounds and look of the microKORG XL, making it an ideal compact keyboard.

Lush analog modeled synthesizer sounds that are characteristic of the microKORG have been freshly added to the microKORG XL+. In addition, for band use, the microKORG XL+ comes equipped with the piano sound from Korg's classic stage piano, the SGproX (famous for its ability to stand out in your band's mix), as well as its hard-edged grand-type electric piano. This compact package also includes sounds from the M1 and the VOX organ, vintage tape-type string and flute machines, as well as other gorgeous sounds from keyboard history."

"Simple drone with lab oscillator to test reworked mixer/pedal board. (this is one half of my small portable 5U modular synth setup) Right now all the pedals are connected in a non-changeable way but in the future I'll be adding a patch panel at the top of the case so I'll be able to easily change the order and grouping of the pedals as well as use one or more on the mixer inserts etc.

Thanks for watching!"
