"I purchased this very special and unique version of the Juno 106 from Allen Coppock of The Synth Spa in the US. I then had the unit imported to me at quite some cost. This unit has been configured to accept 240 volts. It goes without saying that this is a very rare and beautiful machine and remains in stunning condition - a 30 year old synthesizer that looks new and looks particularly gorgeous in low light, with the lit up pitch-bender and blue LED's. This particular unit has had some of its capacitors replaced in addition to all of its transistors to bring the sound more in line with the Juno 60. The complete Blue Meanie upgrade encompassed the following upgrades and refinements, as explained by Allen Coppock:-

1. A full panel board restoration. (This solves bad buttons. corroded faders, edit light problems.)

2. Power board restoration. (This solves aging large electrolytic capacitors that are leaking)

3. New battery and removable battery chassis in the CPU board. (You can now replace the battery your self!)

4. Module board restoration - voice chips service. (Guaranteed not to fail, AND socketed for easy removal if need be.)

5. Juno 60 style transistors installed in the analogue signal path on the module board and Jack board.

6. Minor body work and a clear coat to protect the Juno 106 screen print for years to come.

7. Full calibration across the entire keyboard.

8. A special edition of Synth Spa Sounds for bank A & B, organized by type of sound.

9. Lighted bender, LED's and 2 digit screen changed to Blue.

10. A DSI style polyphony meter. When you play a key, the voice for that key depressed, lights up a corresponding LED in the poly meter. This can be very useful for a tech or for just watching the lights dance during a real cool sequence.

11. Beautifully cut and polished American Cherry wood side panels.

This synthesizer has remained in a smoke free studio since it was bought two years ago. Also included is a nice cream coloured cotton dust cover from Digital Deck Covers and a UK kettle-type mains lead. I will pack the unit extremely well in a large strong cardboard box with lots of foam packaging wrapped around the synthesizer. Although I do not wish to sell this synthesizer, it does seem daft to keep it now that I'll be buying a Jupiter 8."

"It uses 16 analog dco oscillators at 2 per voice and 8 analog curtis 3372 rev.c filters of the same design used in the prophet T8. All the buttons work, the pitch bend and assignable mod wheel work, and all the keys trigger and feel nice to play. The 96 patch memory is full of awesome vintage sounds. This is a recommended item and it would make a wonderful addition to any studio. Cosmetically it shows some of it's age with scratches (especially on the display cover) and wear (please view the photos). It appears to have been outside a studio a some point and has marks on the keys."

"This is a great Minimoog Model D, and an excellent opportunity to get a vintage one at a good value, as it's been substantially modified. All the original functionality is completely intact, but it has some pretty fantastic extra features. The modifications include:

Ribbon Controller - Mounted in front of the keyboard, currently connected to the pitch wheel, with on/off switch
4th Oscillator - Square or triangle wave + frequency knob
Modulation on oscillators 2 and 3, with independent "on/off" switches for oscillators 1, 2 and 3
"Modulation Mix" control now blends oscillators 3 and 4
Separate modulation level knob for the noise source
I didn't do these mods and I don't know who did. The osc 3 + 4 modulation mods appear to be a DIY version of the common Rivera mod. I can't tell you much about how they were implemented; all I know is they sound musical and cool, they work well, and they greatly expand the sound palette of the original circuit. This Minimoog is in good functional condition, with the exception of some scratchy pots. The serial number is 5297 so it has the old oscillator board.

The keyboard holds its tune reasonably well; not the best I've used but certainly not the worst. Scaling is good and usable but not perfect. The bus bar seems clean and good, and all key contacts seem to work reliably. Cosmetically it looks pretty good, but it's definitely not in mint condition. As you can see, some of the finish on the wood panels has worn off, several of the chrome knob caps are missing, and there's a crack in the wood at the top of the control panel. Also note that the frame was cut below the keyboard to accommodate the ribbon controller, though it was done quite nicely and certainly doesn't impact the structural integrity of the keyboard. There is some other minor wear, so please look closely at the pictures; I've tried to be as thorough as possible. It will ship in the blue flight case shown in the pictures. Here are some closeup pictures of the control panel; all of the added controls are on the far left"
