"Dave Smith Instruments Mopho X4
'More Analog Pads & FX'
4 Voice Analog Synthesizer
100% No Talking!!!
Just pure DSI Analog POWER!
***Watch in HD!!!***
This is the 2nd Dave Smith Instruments Mopho X4
video, this time a Nocturnal Analog Trip, with more
sounds tweaked into vintage filter sweeping pads
and special effects.
I absolutely love this powerhouse, it is just awesome!
My poor camera ran out of batteries before I finished
filming so the video footage drops out near the end.
I placed pics of the Mopho X4 to fill the blanks!
Thank you Dave Smith for your excellent gear!
YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not trying to show off my playing skills,
just showing the YouTube Universe what this
analog synthesizer can do!
Recorded live in Ableton Live 9
Oh, and YES! I did use a Korg Electribe 2
for the light show! LOL!
Thank you for watching!"

"Circuit bent machine, made from an Alesis Microverb III & a load of other funky circuitry.
There's a CB Radio MIC, a Step-Sequencer, a Loop Sampler, Big Modulation knob & lots of patchable metal bolts."
via this auction
"This machine is built from a highly modified, Up-graded and Circuit Bent 'Alesis Microverb' FX processor.
It is capable of producing many Delay, Echo & Reverb effects, in glorious high-resolution Stereo, and now has a new range of unique new sounds, features and capabilities which are beyond the realms of conventional synthesizers.
The original FX processor has been lovingly modified, up-graded with loads of funky new circuitry, and re-housed inside the case of a vintage computer toy.
New circuitry includes a patchable Step-Sequencer, with the computer toy's red LED screen being re-purposed to display the 'Steps' :)
There is now also a built-in hand MIC, taken from an old CB Radio :)
A 'Precision Oscillator' allows the 'clock' rate to be modulated using a large knob, so that FX's can be tweaked, modulated & thrown around with reckless abandon.
This machine retains all of the Alesis original features and sounds, as well as some powerful and fascinating new features.
Lots of up-grades and modifications to transform and enhance -
+ Modulation knobs - to tweak the 'clock rate' of the FX processor.
+ Patchable Metal Bolts - Access to hidden sounds & FX. Lot's of tonal ring-mods on the top row of bolts, and extra FX / variations with the bottom row of bolts.
+ Step-Sequencer - a row of metal bolts above the computer's screen, can be patched to create custom Arpeggio & rhythm effects. The red LED lights on the screen scroll from left to right, and represent the 8 steps. The speed can be adjusted using the 'rate' knob on the right, and the Arpeggio / Rhythm effect can be turned on/off using a toggle switch.
+ Loop Sampler - This machine can be used as a Loop Sampler... Press the large blue button, and it will sample and loop the sound. Modulation knob can be used to extend the sample time to many seconds, and the sound will degrade nicely at very low settings. Press the button again, and the loop will stop.
+ Sync output - 3.5mm jack socket allows external gear to be synced to the Step-Sequencers clock (such as Monotribe, Volca, etc.)"

The Moog Concordance - Charlemagne Palestine
via @moogmusicinc
""I'm the oldest Moogist in here..." The great Charlemagne Palestine at his super sonorous show @BarbicanCentre #Moog"
via TimeOut:
"Three days of innovative synth music at the Barbican
A three-day series at the Barbican marking ten years since the death of Dr Robert Moog, inventor of the classic modular synthesizer that kickstarted electronic music in the ’60s. It all starts on Wednesday night with sets by Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory and his Moog Ensemble, performing everything from Bach to Burt Bacharach, and contemporary composer Charlemagne Palestine premiering a new piece.
Thursday’s headliners are cult New York synth-punk duo Suicide with a show called ‘A Punk Mass’, featuring new material and fan favourites. Finally, on Friday, there’s a performance by one of the Moog’s most famous exponents: prog keyboard wizard Keith Emerson, teaming up with the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform his typically bombastic ‘Three Fates Project’. Book early, and make sure you know how to pronounce that name: it rhymes with ‘vogue’, not ‘fugue’."
