'Translational Drifts: Moogfest Vol. 1,' is the first EP in a series of free digital recordings that feature Moogfest artists - past, present and future. Volume 1 showcases five contemporary acts reinterpreting seminal electronic music influencers that have shaped past Moogfest lineups. This premiere installment includes YACHT, ADULT., Julianna Barwick, Moses Sumney and Dan Deacon translating tracks by Devo, Pet Shop Boys, Suicide, Laurie Anderson and Brian Eno. Their renditions pay tribute to a rich history of electronic music, with new sounds that continue to push further into the future. YACHT, a contributor and previous Moogfest curator, praises the company behind the collaboration, 'We love how Moog brings artists together. The sound of the machines and the culture of the company are like a bridge across genres and generations.'"

"Dear Friends,

Please join us: Friday, July 24 at Noon. Free and open to the public.

Our special guest is Michael Vannice, whose playing is influenced by experimental music, free jazz, and avant-garde classical music. He will be playing a Eurorack modular synthesis system with a WX-5 wind controller. Todd and I [Bruce Bayard] will both be playing Buchla Electronic Easels.

While this music is electronic in nature, it is not computer music. The instruments are analog synthesizers, and in the case of the two Easels, each has a hard-wired circuit board designed by Todd that creates a very expressive setting we use as our starting point. It allows us to modulate the sound with touch, and it also adds random elements into the mix. It becomes a very interactive process between musician and instrument. In a similar way, Michael uses a wind controller to trigger and modify sound events through breath.

The spacial and acoustical characteristics of the Schneider Museum make for a unique listening experience. A speaker is placed in each of the four galleries, and sound can be directed to each discreetly. In this way, space plays a huge compositional role in the creation of the music.

"So here is a beautiful condition cosmetically Arp Omni 2 from Hannett's personal synth cache and in particular his collection of Omni 2s found in the Hannett cache during the making of the documentary on him.
It is in a full flight case and a lot of the keyboard and button functions work but it could do with a service.
This is a real piece of history as Hannett's synths and or ideas he worked out on his synths were used on so many records that he produced.Joy Division, John Cooper Clarke, U2, Stone roses, Magazine, Happy Mondays, New Order.
This is the man who pioneered the use of synths and echo/delay on punk and post punk records.
Comes with confirmation of provenance from the Hannett collection.

Wonderful sounding analogue synth from the late 1970's in top fully working condition. Unfortunately selling to downsize my studio.

This is the superior MKII model with the expressive PPC's. All original and with all slider caps.

Previously used by a school in the USA, James converted this to UK voltage."
