"Yamaha's iPad app for reface allows the user to instantly recall settings and sounds for the complete range of reface instruments. It is connected to the reface CS in this movie, but it works with reface CP, reface YC and reface DX as well.

The app works particularly well with the reface CS because it memorizes all the settings, enabling instant recall of your favourite synth sounds.

You can rate sounds out of 5 stars and also use the app to share sounds with other reface users around the World."

TX81Z Patch Degrader Demo

"This quick demo illustrates how TX81Z Patch Degrader is interpolating between the previous and newly generated parameter values. TX81Z Patch Degrader is a Max for Live MIDI effect that chips away at patches on the TX81Z by randomly changing (or degrading) parameters at a specified rate. What makes the process interesting is that it is now possible to ramp up or down (or interpolate) to the new value rather than changing it instantaneously.

To create the Max for Live MIDI instrument I started with TX81Z Editor 1.0 (http://www.maxforlive.com/library/dev...) by Jeroen Liebregts who was kind enough to share his work on maxforlive.com. I added in the degradation process features and made some adjustments to the interface to make room for the controls. Once I get things shaped up I'll be happy to share the patch if anyone is interested.

"MS20mini improvisation with pre-recorded MS20mini sequence on Yamaha MT-50. With this soundtrack I used 'Sync Out' signal of SQ1 with MTR, I recorded sync out signal to a track then played it through MS-20mini's ESP to get real sync signal for SQ1 then those two separately recorded sequences ( bass and bell sound ) on MT-50 are perfectly synced :D"

Dual Clock / LFO / Clocked Logic Module

Stop using up your LFOs as clock sources in complex patches!

The CLX is a dual clock source module, with two independent, free-running, 50% duty-cycle square wave analog oscillators, plus logic outputs. Each oscillator has its own frequency control knob, and a high and low frequency range, which is selectable via a toggle switch.

The frequency ranges from less than one cycle per second up into the low audio (several hundred hertz) range.

Clocked Logic
In addition to the two independent clock outputs, the CLX has an output for the Logical AND and Logical XOR (exclusive OR) of the two clocks. The AND output is high only when both the A and B clocks are high. The XOR output is high only when A is high or B is high, but not both.

The logic outputs allow you to create some complex rhythmic material by using the ratio of the two clock rates to produce intricate repeating patterns of clocks.

Gate Driver
All CLX outputs can also be used as gates for things like Envelope Generators, VCA's, etc. The XOR output becomes very interesting when used as a gate source, as the pulse width of the XOR signal varies as the A and B clocks go in and out of phase.

LFO
The CLX outputs are unipolar square wave outputs, and can be used anywhere a square wave LFO would be used. Using the logic outputs allows you to create a dynamically-changing LFO.

Audio Drone
The CLX outputs go up into the audio frequency range, and can be used as fixed oscillators. The logic outputs sound very reminiscent of ring-modulated drones, as the AND and XOR signals vary in pulse width depending on the frequency and relative phase of the A and B clocks.
