Roland Jupiter 8

"A legendary keyboard that needs very little by way of introduction! This vintage Jupiter 8 is in very good overall condition having spent most of its existence in a temperature controlled studio. The serial number is in the 410000 range, indicating that it is a later model, which may be important to some users and collectors. This keyboard contains most (if not all) of the factory mods and improvements made to the Jupiter 8 line over the years, including changes in D/A bit rates, LED displays, and the addition of a DCB port. No other modifications have been performed on it since it emerged from the factory during the heady days of the 1980s.

It is a monster of an instrument and I have found that modern day plug-in emulators really do not do it justice. The Jupiter 8 has received outstanding reviews since its introduction and has a huge cult following, especially on the vintage market.

Cosmetically, this keyboard is remarkably clean considering its age. There are a couple of surface scratches on the finish, and a few of the sliders are slightly bent. I'm sure that a handy individual could have them straight and true in mere minutes. There is some discoloration underneath the clear protective plastic plate covering both LED readout indicators that seems to be paint or finish related. It is only present where the plastic cover is mounted to the steel surface of the unit. It does not extend into the viewing readout area of the display. Please refer to the pictures above to view it. Knobs, switches, and buttons are all in good working order. The keyset on this instrument is straight and in very good shape. Overall, this keyboard is a fine example of the breed.
This auction includes the Roland Jupiter 8 keyboard that will be shipped in a brand new ATA Kent road case complete with back casters for easy maneuvering. Sorry, the manual is not included but fortunately, the web contains virtually every shred of information and detail about this keyboard!"

Crumar Bit One Digital/Analog Synthesizer

"The Crumar Bit One is a very rare hybrid synthesizer. This particular unit is in great condition, with the exception of one issue. The square wave on both oscillators do not function upon start up. However, after the unit has been turned on for about thirty minutes the square wave starts to work again..."

Macbeth X Series Micromac D Desktop Semi Modular Synthesizer

"- 3 Macbeth x-series oscs
- 2 LFOs,
- noise,
- 2 EGs,
- 24dB LP ladder filter,
- semi-modular, patchable, including CV in/out to all 3 oscs.

It nails that classic Minimoog-D sound, probably the closest of any synth I've heard, but with the modulation options and the patching, you can of course do a hell of lot more.

It's in near mint condition. It's rare, Ken Macbeth having made only 120. It's built like a tank. It's got a Kenton midi-CV built in, and 2 LFOs not available on the rack mount version. Will be sad to see it go."

Custom Modded Sequential Circuits Max Synth

via this auction

"This Synth has been modified with the addition of the following features:

100 sounds, all downloadable, located in battery-backed RAM
Note storage increased from about 500 to about 3200
Unison mode added.
Three sets of 100 factory sounds in EPROM: 80 Max + 20 Six track Unison factory sounds, 100 Six Track factory sounds, and 100 Multi-Trak factory sounds (without chorus or velocity sensitivity, of course)
CC parameter changes to current program can be saved to program 99, then copied to any other program
MIDI receive buffer increased from 64 bytes to 128 bytes
Removed code that reduced volume of subsequent notes if CC change received while MIDI note with low velocity playing. This a code bug in the original EPROM.
These features were added by upgrading both the EPROM and the type/amount of RAM. The Max shipped with a 128K EPROM and two 2Kx8 SRAM chips. This modified Max has a 256K EPROM and a single 32Kx8 SRAM chip (only 16K is used). The modification is a small PC board which holds the EPROM and NV SRAM. This board plugs into the existing EPROM socket on the Max. Five additional wires connect from the Max main board to the new memory board. In addition, the two SRAM chips on the Max main board have been disabled. See more info by googling 'Sequential Circuits MAX Mod Page - Tauntek'"

"...or at least how I do it! A few people had asked how this setup was configured so I thought I'd make a video to explain it all.

The Tr-8 and Kaoss Pads make a great combo, giving you the ability to synchronize and effect loops on-the-fly and add side-chaining and scatter from the Tr-8."
