Random Source Serge Resonant EQ Eurorack Kits at Thonk

"Serge Resonant EQ - bokeh

Exploring the resonant side of the Serge Resonant EQ (R*S edition for Eurorack, layering 2 live recordings, each basically using nothing but the EQ:
- Perc track was made by running a pulse from a DUSG into Input 1 and each 4th of those pulses (using a Pulse Divider) into Input 2 and playing with the 10 bands and the Feedback knob / Phase switch
- Drone track uses the normal (triangle) out for Input 1 and the Gate out from the same DUSG (running in Cycle mode as an oscillator) - again only playing with the bands and feedback.

Listen on good speakers at high volume :-)"

"We hadn’t expected to have these kits finalised before Xmas… but we do! We are only producing a limited run of these right now as they are very time-consuming to produce. Click through to purchase."

"The RESONANT EQUALIZER (EQ) is a unique ten-band filter designed specifically for electronic sound synthesis and processing. Except for the top and bottom frequency bands, the bands are spaced at an interval of a major seventh. The Resonant Equalizer is designed to produce formant peaks and valleys similar to those in acoustic insstruments.

There are three equalized outputs: the two COMB outputs provide the sums of the two alternate filter bands, while the two top outputs are the (identical) mix of all filter bands. Please note that there is no sharp separation between the bands, moving any frequency knob will have an influence on both COMB outputs. This equalizer is special in that the bands can be set to be resonant: when the knobs are in the middle position, the response at the main EQ Output is flat. When the knobs are positioned between the 9 and 3 o’clock position, up to 12 db of boost or cut is set at the band. If the knob is set beyond the 3 o’clock position, the band will become resonant, simulating the natural resonance of acoustic instrument formant structures. Below the 9 o’clock position, increased band rejection is achieved.

The Random*Source version of the filter is a licensed and authorized adaption of the legendary Serge equalizer for Eurorack. It adds an input mixer with 2 inputs that can be built/used to attenuate or amplify/distort the input signal(s) before they are sent into the EQ and a Feedback section (knob and phase switch) which allows to feed back the output signal or the inverted output signal (depending on the Phase switch). Adding inverted feedback leads to phase cancellation effects – unlike the “normal” feedback, level decreases and the signal thins out.

Now – licenced by Serge – the legendary EQ is available as DIY kit for Eurorack."

Gear used:
-Eurorack arpeggio: Ladik VCO1, Doepfer A110-1, A106-5, Mutable Instruments Peaks
-Little bass: Elektron Analog Keys
-Sequencing, drums and effects: Elektron Octatrack

Mastered with Logic with minimum effects.

In this Lab 0004 we use our new Eurorack synth. It's still very simple, but is sounds great! We tried to make a tune with only a few elements, but still with structure and something interesting to say.

This is our musical laboratory, a place to cook new compositions, where we experiment with our music toys. Some of them will end in our albums, some not. Time will tell..."

"One of the classic Yamaha vintage synthesizer which is known for its unique and original sound. It will be a duophonic/ bitimbral synth if you connect it to CV to get an extra voice.

This unit has flexible possibilities of the VCF, envelopes and routing to filters. The VCFs are at 12db/OCT and are switchable between lowpass, bandpass and highpass filters. The noise, external in and LFOs are other great features for this synth.

A great synth for original sounds, bass, leads and fx!!

The voltage for this item is 100V. If you use this item in countries where the voltage is more than 100V such as 200 - 240V, the item will be broken unless you use a proper transformer."

CASIO COSMO SYNTHESIZER

Some interesting Casio rack synths in this one. Googlish description below.

What in it, Isao Tomita became the CZ series of the original post-supervised "Cosmo synthesizer" has been exhibited, I was able to be allowed to specially taken with kindly Casio Toshio invention Memorial .

Although had been exhibited this time was only the main unit, the source of this addition to the keyboard unit, the waveform is sampled connect the digitizer is there 16bit personal computer, I was able to be processed.

Within the rack, but did not make it into the release of what was announced, it was released 16bit sampler sampler "ZZ-1" of vision that became the prototype of the "FZ-1" after was also housed.

Unfortunately, the power supply was not possible to manipulate or heard the sound does not enter. But I was able to touch directly on the Cosmo synthesizer you think Defunct without having seen decent until now.

Again we would like to thank Casio Toshio invention Memorial who gave a very valuable opportunity.

nonlinearcircuits aries 329 phase clone

Published on Dec 23, 2015 cirtcele

"1st play with this module. Still a bit of tweaking of the trimpots to do and adjust some signal level, but it seems to sound pretty good!
Circuit is based on the Aries 329 phase/Flange, which is not the same as but shares some similarities with the Arp Quadra phaser and the Tau pipe Phaser. This version is nearly all smd and uses BCM847 matched transistors"
