Quiet Saturdays - Episode 15 - live studio

"How not to say weather is not influencing us?! If a couple of days ago were 23°C in the middle of February, now we're back into the winter and there are only a few above 0°C. So, because of this, I think I started for 5 or 6 times the recording, every time forgetting or to sync my Doepfer (which is sequencing my Eurorack and is master clock for Radias and System-100) start push with playing the chords on Virus (pad) or I forgot Radias drums on, or System-100's arp volume up... Well, in the end I almost win and finished to record this Episode! I hope you'll have more fun than I did today!

frekvens - linear frequency shifter
Published on Feb 20, 2016 humbletune
"This is my new little project frekvens, a linear frequency shifter and stereo delay for iOS called frekvens. It can be a bit of a quirky app but also quite cool sometimes I think."
iTunes: frekvens - Erik Sigth
"Frekvens is a frequency shifter and delay effect. Unlike a pitch shifter all frequencies are shifted linearly and then fed back into itself using the stereo delay unit. The frequency shifting is achieved with single sideband modulation using a hilbert transform and an infinite impulse response filter for fast computations. Frekvens also comes with a high and low pass filter and a lfo for modulating the delay play head.
- frequency shifter
- high, low pass filter
- stereo delay
- core midi cc input.
- audiobus
- inter app audio
- save, load"

via the seller: "This has some custom work done by myself. I replaced the stock blue plastic for a clear poly-carbonate one for easier LCD reading. Take a look at the pictures. I feel it looks better. I also installed custom color matching soft rubber knobs for each synth section. The sliders were also upgraded with modern alpha sliders for longer lifespan usage. I prefer white indicators then the fader caps. There is less chance of breaking the sliders now with this upgrade."

Adventures in Synthesis: "I IV V" drone
Published on Feb 19, 2016 Chris Beckstrom
"More about this project:
www.chrisbeckstrom.com/portfolio/diy-modular-synthesizer/
An exercise/improvisation with a drone. Some of the biggest and most epic sounds I've created with the modular yet. At times it sounds like a distorted guitar through a stack of amps, but it's just a bunch of square wave oscillators.
Patch notes:
The main sound is a square oscillator into a clock divider (generating multiple octaves) and then four of those octaves go into the four inputs of a sequential switch. The sequential switch is clocked by another oscillator that can go from audio rates all the way down to clicks (very slow).
When the sequential switch is clocked at audio rates it sounds sort of like frequency modulation, and depending on the clock speed you get various intervals and timbres. I don't really understand why this happens, but I discovered I could create various chord-type sounds by changing the clock speed.
The output of the sequential switch is mixed with one of the other divider outputs (very low suboctave) and a couple higher octave sounds going through semi-randomly-opened VCAs.
All that stuff gets a splash of delay, two channels into the mixer for some spring reverb, then into Bitwig running on Linux. I'd love to hear this on some really big speakers– on my little monitors it shakes the whole basement!"
