Streets - JU-06, JP-08, EMX2, Novation Circuit, System-1, TB-3, Volcas
Published on May 15, 2016 Micro Banshee
"Track title - Streets.
Another track putting the Novation Circuit in the mix with my other micro machines, it's also the first track I've used the Roland Boutique JP-08 on, it's a small part as it was late to the party on this track, most of the track had already been mapped out - it's also the first time I've used the sequencer on a boutique.
New look studio, gone is the 3 Tier keyboard stand, back to a table and risers!

Folktek Conduit being Conduit
Published on May 14, 2016 Sir Folktek
"Here is Folktek Conduit eurorack module, currently available on the folktek site: http://folktek.com/instruments/modula...
This is not intended to be a musical performance - just displaying the sound of the module.
What's happening?
First, there are three signal paths to Conduit:
- A simple Matter beat (created by 3 varigate4 outs) is jacked into the Conduit delay input where it goes through delay and filtering (output to mixer)
- The clean Matter signal is multiplied which is essential (output sent to mixer)
- two of the Conduit harmonic oscillations are jumped to the Resist module where they are mixed, then jumped to vactrol 1 (essentially a VCA). The vactrol is triggered by an envelope and the oscillation output is sent (via external reverb) to mixer.
- The same is happening with vactrol 2 but this one is being sent to mixer via external delay.
- Conduit is receiving a simple, slow, 4 part cv sequence via Octone which controls pitch of the oscillations as well as time for the delay (they are synonymous).
- Conduit filter is receiving cv signal via lfo at first and then mid-video re-patched to receive cv via Conduit internal envelop follower created by the delay input.
About mid-video and then throughout the reverb mix and the delay are turned up and down, displaying the three distinctly different Conduit pathways that are present."

Rheyne - Mother Jam #2 (3x Moog Mother-32, TC Hall of Fame, Roland Demora)
Published on May 14, 2016 Rheyne
"A patch using the sequencers of 3x Moog Mother-32 analog synths, reverb from a TC Hall of Fame, and delay from a Roland Demora. Good speakers or headphones are recommended. All three sequencers were pre-programmed before recording the video. I'm holding a camcorder with my right hand and making slight adjustments to the patch with my left (trying to keep my hand out of the frame) but this patch creates lots of modulations on its own without any adjustments. The audio is directly from the mixer and is in-sync with the vid, so you'll see the lights on the LFOs will match what you're hearing."

Grand Illusions - Mini Theremin & Stylophone
Published on May 24, 2015 Grand Illusions
For those not familiar with Grand Illusions, he covers odd toys and collectibles. I thought I'd share these two here.
"The theremin is the only musical instrument that you play without touching! Invented in 1920 by the Russian inventor Leon Theremin, this is one of the earliest electronic instruments.
A full theremin has two antennae, one allows you to control the pitch of the note and the other the volume. This mini theremin only has one antenna, which allows you to control the pitch of the note. As you move your hand towards the antenna, the pitch of the note goes up, and as you move your hand away, the note gets lower. The slider on the left hand side of the machine has three positions; when it is pushed in fully, the theremin is off. In the mid position, the theremin plays quietly, and when it is pulled out fully, the theremin plays louder. There is a small jack socket at the back, which allows you to plug the theremin into another device, such as a small amplifier."
Stylophone
Published on Apr 17, 2013 Grand Illusions
"Although Tim didn't acquire this toy until the 1980s, it was already 20 years old at the time - the Stylophone came out in 1968! It is an early form of synthesizer, although as it is really a toy, the controls are quite simple. When you touch one of the metal keys with the stylus, this completes a circuit, and a note plays. On the front is the ON-OFF switch, and also a switch to add vibrato. On the back is a rotary control which changes the pitch of the instrument, which is useful if you need to combine the Stylophone with other instruments.
The Stylophone made a number of appearances in films, music and TV. David Bowie's track Space Oddity uses a Stylophone near the beginning.
Around 3 million were sold, before ceasing production in 1975. However recently, the son of the original inventor has started a new company, making an updated version of the Stylophone."
