Debora Jo's First Eurorack Experience

Published on Jun 11, 2016 Genshi Media Group

"This was Debora's first go on my little Eurorack system. She actually created the sequence herself on the Intellijel Metropolis (which was sequencing the Mutable Instruments Braids) and the Beatstep Pro (which was sequencing the Intellijel Dixie II+.)"

Serge Installation at American Steel Studios in Oakland, CA

via Doug Lynner

"I was commissioned to program a 2 panel/TKB Serge for a Binaural Beat art installation at American Steel Studios in Oakland, CA this morning. The chamber pictured here is the entrance to artist Leo Madrid's studio. The Serge is in the background. It is a great large gallery space so go and enjoy the great art and a little bit of Serge."

Update: the installation will be up through next Sunday.

Published on Jun 11, 2016 Oren Levy

"Still in the early stages of learning to play the pedal steel. I ran it through the Doepfer A-119, into Rings and Clouds and the Rings output went into Clouds too. Clouds is in Oliverb mode with the Parasites firmware."

"An undisputed classic of beat production, the SP-1200 rivals the MPC60 as the defining instrument of Hip Hop production. So remarkably in demand, even after becoming technologically outclassed by other sampling instruments with more memory and features, they were in production and/or reissued until E-mu ran out of SSM2044 filter chips in 1998. This one is serial number 099302252, and was manufactured near the end of production, as indicated by the black chassis. This sampling powerhouse is in great shape, loads samples, and sounds fantastic. Ships in a hard shell case, and includes a copy of the manual."

"Along with the Acetone Rhythm Ace, the Maestro Rhythm King MRK-2 help put the drum machine on the map as an revolutionary instrument, with a great debt to Sly Stone. This drum machine is in incredible shape for its age, with the only odd repair of the handle (as seen in the pics). Functionally, this funk box is cracking and loud, sounds fantastic, and will chug along for years to come. Includes original cover, and the footswitch and power cable are in great repair."

"This synth is a relic of a particularly strange and bygone era, the introduction of virtual analogue synthesizers in the late 1990s. The JP-8000 is a strong sonic contender, and while it has more than enough supersaw power for another Trance Tribute to Depeche Mode, it also can be treated as a deep tool for serious sound designers. This used synth has just been updated with a replacement battery, and all the key contacts have been cleaned. It plays and sounds great. It is missing one slider cap and has had a knob replaced, but will ship in a gig bag."
