Bob Moog on Analog vs. Digital

Moog Music posted an interview with Bob Moog from the January 2005 issue of Keyboard Magazine. You can find it here.

"Bob Moog speaks to Mark Vail about the difference in sound quality between analog and digital sound creation. The nitty gritty details of how sound is produced and how it is percieved by our ears are made clear in this article from the January 2005 issue of Keyboard Magazine."

DSI PRO 2 RHYTHMIC SOUND DESIGN TUTORIAL ON THE DSI PRO 2 ~ Synthesize This! Ep.08

"I make a patch centered around the sequencer on the Pro 2 synth. I make use of all 4 oscillators and utilize the wavetables. Multiple sequencer tracks are then used as modulation sources to create a moving rhythmic patch. Finally distortion and delay is applied to spice things up. We're not going after emulating a specific patch here. Rather, I'm just building a patch from scratch and improvising along the way to keep things moving and interesting."

Echo of Humanity from John Wegner and Kaiboard

Published on Jan 13, 2017 Kaiboard

"A time-asynchronous jam session between John Wegner (Australia) and Kaiboard (Germany). It all started when I saw a video of a drone flying over the destroyed city of Aleppo and discussed this with John. We both felt this loneliness and desperation of the people there. Two years ago we did the ‘Throw Me Away‘ project ( http://www.fandalism.com/kaiboard/dqSg ) which addressed a similar topic, so we had a common understanding. Then the idea of a virtual jam session came up with music that expresses the loneliness, the sadness but also with a glimpse of hope and humanity. We started with creating some live played stuff on the keys (mainly using analog synthesizers and sequencers) and John added beautiful guitar, also playing live. So, it was like a live session but not played at the same time. Both of us were alone but we made some music together overcoming thousands of kilometers, different languages and cultures, expressing a common view on the world. And it felt good!

The video from Aleppo is available on multiple sources. We’re aware that often footage like this is published with a political intention. We follow none of these intentions, our intention is just to rise awareness of the insane things happening these times in many placed of the earth. We took the version from Euronews, you find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkb3y... . We’re using it for a strictly non-commercial purpose."

Shocking drone footage shows Aleppo destruction

Published on Sep 28, 2016 euronews (in English)

"Drone footage filmed in rebel-held eastern Aleppo shows the extent of damage resulting from heavy bombardments on the city since the breakdown of a ceasefire in Syria last week."

We are living in some shitty time. Humans seeking power at the expense of lives.

Geiger counter synth module with uranium ore

Update: see the comments below for the answer.

You'll be twisting those knobs with stubs for fingers in no time!

"Produces random voltages by comparing the time between clicks. Initially counts three clicks, then takes the time between 1 and 3 as the overall range mapped to 5V, and click 2 as the voltage level. It then waits for the next click to replace click 3, and re-assigns the previous 2 and 3 to the new 1 and 2, if that makes sense.

The 5V is converted into a control voltage signal, with adjustable range and offset, adapted from Ken Stone's joystick schematic. Glide has also been borrowed from a CGS module. Also produces a trigger output every time the geiger counter is activated."
