How To Learn Yamaha DX7 Synthesizer – Tutorial: Fundamentals of FM Synthesis, Algorithm

Published on Dec 2, 2016 Power DX7

"This is a foundation level tutorial and it’s the first Yamaha DX7 & FM synthesis tutorial from the FM synthesis tutorial series. This how to learn tutorial gives you an overview of the most important aspect of the Yamaha DX7 and FM synthesis, Algorithm.

Algorithm plays a critical role in the FM synthesis sound design. It determines how all Operators (oscillator with envelop generator) interact with one another. The DX7 algorithm offers both frequency modulation synthesis as well as additive synthesis. Having 32 options of different algorithm, the DX7 FM synthesis offers greater versatility of sonic creation.

Future tutorials will include FM synthesis sound design, as well as further explanation of algorithm."

Sidrax and Cocoquantus

"An experiment of the Ciat-Lonbarde combo. I just took an output of Sidrax to the right coco. I'm not using the left coco here. Tried to keep the things simple to figure out what works how.

How To Create A Basic Patch On An Analog Modular Synthesizer

Published on Mar 23, 2017 TheDaydreamSound

With a synthesizers.com modular system.

"How Modular Synthesizers Work

If you’re toying with the idea of experimenting with modular synthesizers but are intimidated by all of those wires, just know that it’s far simpler than it looks. In this video we’ll start with a basic patch to break the ice as and give a straightforward introduction to patching with a modular synthesizer.

The guts of a synthesizer are visible with modular synthesizers which allows you to get under the hood and modify/patch things anyway that you choose. This gives you far more control than you’d have with a traditional modern synthesizer where things are pre-patched by the manufacturer giving you a great deal more options when creating sounds.

As always, nothing pre-recorded. Hope you'll enjoy it !"

Cocoquantus - Ciat-Lonbarde

Published on Mar 23, 2017 hajimmie

"Demoing 'QUANTUSSY (center part of the instrument)' part of Cocoquantus. I took a triangle out (orange) and square out (gray) to each coco (2 side part, the most left is mic input). So you're hearing two "petals" of QUANTUSSY into cocos. As you see, I'm not patching at all but the QUANTUSSY makes a fairly complex modulation within. The left knob I occasionally wiggle is master tune while the right knob is 'chaos(master modulation depth)'

Nastiest Drum Machine Ever? (Mattel Synsonics Drums)

Published on Mar 22, 2017 HardtekStudios

"This thing has actually been collecting dust for a while, so I decided to pull it out and give it another go. It has a really unique sound, due to the cheap, but ANALOG sound engine inside. The pads don't work so well, so I just focused on the programming. This was recorded strait into Logic with absolutely no pre or post processing, so this is the true sound of it."
