Analogue improvisation with Makenoise 0-Coast, Korg SQ-1, Strymon BigSky, Red Panda bitmap
Theme is a single take recording, no editing. 2 background elements were added post recording: high-pitched ‘chirps’ and a low ‘heartbeat’. Both elements derived from the original patch. The ‘heartbeat’ is self-patched.
SQ-1 has a series of pitches programmed across all 16 steps. Most pitches span more than one step and this interacts with the cycling Slope generator and Contour with variable decay on the 0-Coast to create the variety of note durations.

1. Making a Eurorack Module Part One: Hardware Prototyping
"The first part in a series about how a module is made. From idea to a completed module. The first part will be how I prototype hardware. part two will be software development, and part 3 will be finished module fabrication and production."
2. Making a Eurorack Module Part Two: Demo, and Software
"The second part in a series about how a module is made. From idea to a completed module. This part is a demo of what I want the module to do and a explanation of the software driving it. Part 3 will be finished module fabrication and production."
3. Making a Eurorack Module Part Three: Manufacture and Assembly
The final part of the making a module series. This video covers a brief overview of the steps to turn the prototype built in the previous videos into a finished unit.

"Nothing groundbreaking, just a simple acid track….. but all the sounds were made using just a TB-303 as a sound source, by sampling into an MPC and truncating, filtering and layering. Even the hihats and metal sounds :)"

"This synth was manufactured in early-to-mid 1980s by Fender in Japan. This was the last synth designed by Arp engineers.
It is very clean, undamaged, Polaris which has been in the studio. You're not likely to find a cleaner looking and performing Polaris on the market anywhere as these are increasingly rare.
I replaced membrane panels 1 week ago, so this is good to go for another 30+ years!"

Volca FM + Ditto X4 = loop fun!
Published on Feb 22, 2018 Slenterende Beer
"I decided to switch from the Ditto Stereo looper to the Ditto X4! I had the idea of doing an all-FM song, so this is what I did:
I programmed 4 short sequences on the Volca, heard in the following order at the start of the video: kick, hi-hat, snare and simple repeating melody. I then recorded a 1-bar loop of silence on the Ditto, to match the length of the FM sequences. After the length was set, I started recording loop 1 and played the 4 sequences, each time layering the loop (aka overdubbing).
I also recorded a 4-bar loop of silence (again, just to set the length), that I then started using for the bass line and chords. After those were recorded on loop 2, it was time for a little solo and playing with the looper effects.
The reason this is possible at all, is because the Ditto and the Volca are synced through MIDI, which was not possible with the Ditto Stereo. The Retrokits RK-004 sends the MIDI clock out to both devices.
Almost all Volca FM patches are from the "Percussive" and "FM Does Analogue" patch packs by the great Oscillator Sink.

"Download the audio track for FREE here [embed below]
For this video track, i have the Moog DFAM Synced to the Moog Mother-32. The DFAM is run thru the Moog MF Delay pedal, while the Mother-32 is being processed with the Moog MuRF with the tempo being synced by the Mother-32 and the envelope controlled by the Mother-32's LFO. Lots of other fun patching is going on too!"
