013//Radio Static - 2x Moog Mother 32 self-generating track
Published on Mar 5, 2018 Alastair Wilson
"A lo-fi, melodic, semi-self-generating modular patch using a small Eurorack setup sent through an Eventide Space dynaverb reverb and an Eventide Timefactor on vintage delay setting. No other processing has been applied.
The patch is semi-random; the backing arpeggios and filter sweeps are expected, but the notes supply the main melody are randomly chosen by the random stepped voltage that comes from the Assign output.
I created this patch after scrolling through the presets on the Eventide Space for the first time ever! I found a preset called Radio Static, which creates a gritty reverb by using a compressor with attack and release times so fast they create digital distortion. I loved the sound of it and so this patch was born. The only other particularly interesting feature is that I converted the random stepped voltage to random gates by triggering the Gate input of the lower Mother 32 with the random voltage. I then took the Gate output and sent that to the higher Mother 32's VCF Cutoff input to open the filter.
A side note - although it looks like Veils in the top left is part of the patch, I'm only using it as a mixer, to turn down the volume of the Mother 32s before they enter the Timefactor.

Deluge - 1.4.0 Firmware Update
Published on Mar 4, 2018 Synthstrom Audible
"We're very excited to announce a new update for the Deluge.
Head to "downloads" on https://synthstrom.com/product/deluge/ to install now.
New features include:
-- Note probability
-- Iteration dependence (e.g. "play on the 3rd of every 4 track iterations")
-- Copy / paste current track-screen view
-- Track solo mode
-- Multiple tracks may send to the same MIDI output channel
-- File browser scrolls long filenames left and right so you can read them, and now orders files alphabetically
-- "Undo" now works in song view for note recording and parameters / automation
-- Fixed problem where DC offset could build up in delay, leading the sound to 'fuzz out'"
Strymon's New Magneto Eurorack Module Now Available
Strymon's Magneto was first announced here. You can find additional posts featuring Magneto including plenty of demos here.
Magneto is priced at $599.00.
The following is the official press release, just in:
Strymon shapes first foray into Eurorack effects with feature-filled Magneto module
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, USA: having turned heads and opened ears at The 2018 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, powerful processing effects developer Strymon is proud to announce availability of Magneto — illustrating its first foray into the Eurorack small-format modular market with an aptly-subtitled Four Head dTape Echo & Looper module packed with powerful features while maintaining intuitive playability, perfect for creating expansive soundscapes and evolving, otherworldly tones — as of March 5…
As implied by the Four Head dTape Echo & Looper legend blazoned across an attractive yet functional front panel that is instantly recognisable as springing forth from the Strymon stable, Magneto is a stereo multi-head tape delay that also functions as a looper, phrase sampler, vintage spring reverb unit, phase-aligned clock multiplier, chaotic oscillator, zero-latency sub-oscillator, and more, with extensive CV I/O.
