This is the first one to be featured on the site. Just when you think you've seen it all, some never before piece of gear from synth history crops up. I capture them in the "New Old" label if you want to check some out. There are 101 posts over the last 13 years of running the site. Cool little bits of synth history.

"Very rare monophonic bass synthesizer keyboard ZENON EK200B made in Japan '70s
made as a student's marching band musical insturmnents.
looks very cool! mint-green panel with white wood side panel.
I'ts very hard to find even in Japan nowadays...

main panel has power, volume, sustain, tone selecter ( TUBA1,TUBA2,Electric BASS)
left side has internal speaker
back side has OUTPUT,Pitch,AC adaptor Inputs (for power & charge)

ZENON EK200B sound is very fat and warm analog Bass sound!"

ARP Odyssey mk2 model 2813 with unique mods by Dave Simmons

Published on Aug 29, 2018 Vykaar Tones

"Arp Odyssey model mk2 with modified spring return variable pitch wheel and delayed lfo amount pot and switch which were added many years ago by Dave Simmons of Simmons drums. This has the 4075 filter. Although this has cosmetic signs of wear it is good working condition - one pro owner before me. When used with an external Kenton midi box you have to set the aux out to provide a trigger as this synth requires gate, trigger and pitch CV one volt per octave"

Published on Aug 29, 2018 Monotrail

"Sometimes a session writes itself. I was experimenting with the Basimilus Iteritas Alter and Doepfer a119 distortion. A simple melody generated by two crosmodulating lfo’s and a quantizer did the rest. I like this one."

YAMAHA AN1x Virtual Analog Synthesizer (1997) Ten Sounds Demo

Published on Aug 29, 2018 RetroSound

"(c) 2018 synthesizer demo by RetroSound

No vintage synth but a synthesizer with vintage sound.
For me is the Yamaha AN1x virtual analog synthesizer the best example for very high quality analog like sound in a cheap and ugly hardware. I ever wantend an AN2x with the same synth engine but with better hardware, more real-time knobs and more nice looking design. A very underrated synth.
In my opinion is the sound quality way better as from modern analog and virtual analog synths.

In the demo can your hear a few sounds from the Yamaha AN1x. Enjoy.

Yamaha AN1x spec.
- 10 Voices
- 2 Oscillators per voice
- FM, Ringmodulator, Sync, Edge
- resonant 12/18/24dB/ low/band/hi pass filter + hi pass
- Arpeggiator , Step-Sequencer
- digital FX"
