Pittsburg Modular Structure 344 Sound & Video Eurorack Synthesizer

"Pittsburg Modular's new Structure 344 eurorack studio case has 4 rows of 84HP in an ergonomic layout with an convenient 1U utility row in the middle. We loaded the top two rows with LZX video synthesizer modules and built a synth voice in the bottom two rows. An Elektron Digitakt was used for the drum sounds and sequencing of the synth via a Hexinverter Mutant Brain. We made a complex oscillator with two Joranalogue Filter 8s and a Compare 2 for cross modulation. Effects are provided by Synthesis Technology modules including the E440 VCF and E560 Deflector Shield.

"The new AtomoSynth Asterion is a full modular synthesizer it means all modules are independent and has none internal connection, it needs to be patched to produce any sound.

All sound generation and control signals are 100% analog. Very beautifull raw, organic, "electrical" sound!!

Very rugged, all metal construction, all potentiometers and jacks fixed to the metal pannel.

High quality full sized and well spaced bakelite knobs.

High quality double sided PCB board. all componets set and soldered by hand by humans!!

High quality components, all potentiometers with dust seal.

Patchbay separated from the knobs to avoid messing with the cables.

104 patch points!! 1/4 inch jacks.

It is an old school style instrument, you need an cv/gate keyborad or cv/gate sequencer to control the Asterion.

3 VCO each one with Tune (10 turn precision potentiometer) and pulse width controls. Pulse and saw waveform. 2 CV inputs and PWM cv input.

2 LFO with square, triangle and saw waveforms.

Today it's snowing a bit early this year. Nothing better than being hunkered down tweaking patches on a lovely Matrix-12 synthesizer. Each of the patches are auditioned dry first, then I maybe activate either/or Timefactor and Big Sky - some patches don't need anything :)

Patches range from the super-dark horrorshow opener, thick airy pads, hyper-surreal soundscapes, the occasional bass, and the occasional Hans Zimmer plucky thing.

Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, audio was normalized.
No other effects or processing."

"short demo featuring an 8-voice wavetable synthesis patch on the percussa ssp eurorack DSP module: each voice consists of a wavetable oscillator, input and MIDI modules, envelope generator and bus module. The envelope generator amplitude-modulates the wavetable oscillator. MIDI module provides pitch, Z modulation and envelope gate/amplitude signals. XY modulation is done using the inputs which are connected to a planar joystick or dixie II LFO. The sound of all oscillators is routed via the bus module to a delay and reverb module before it goes to the output. 43 modules total are running in parallel on the SSP. HOW DOES IT SOUND?
There is a wide spectrum of results achievable with chipcrusher. Here are a few use cases:

Uniquely destroy/mangle a beat, a guitar or any other audio track.
Play single hits and emulate the sound of old samplers.
Add ‘accurate dirt’ to chipsounds’s output.
Emulate a classic 16-bit console's "Delay/verb" to a track
There are four main components in chipcrusher: DAC Encoding, SPC Delay, Background Noise and Cabinet. The audio inputs first go to the DAC Encoding. Then gets processed by the SPC Delay, mixed with the Background Noise to finally get sent to the Cabinet stage. Of course, each component can be bypassed on demand without muting the audio.
