Roland JX3p vs alphaJuno 1
Published on Jun 16, 2019 synthlegends
"Review and comparision of basic differences and sounds. First of all I made 4 different sounds compared on both synths and in the second part I demonstrate some different strenghts of both synths. I didn't go too deep becuase it would make this video too long and maybe boring. I should give you a good and objective overview of the strenghts, advantages and disadvanteges of both synths.
My conclusion is: the alpha goes very deep with additional waveforms, great PWM, adjustable Chorus and adjustable suboscillator. Also you have great several stages envelopes with different settings.
The JX3P is less capable, but has two oscillators for warm vintage tone to detune, sync oscillator and ring modulation. It has no real PMW, but you can adjust it over the sync mode, but than you only have only one oscilator sounding.
The JX3P has the Jupiter 8/Juno 60 filter, which is IMO an poor mans JP8 and a better Juno without knobs. The alpha Juno has a bit a more gritty filter, sounds a bit harsh and less warm, but you can get really great 70ies like stuff and modern tones out of it as well.
Some great vintage tones of the JX3P you can't program on the alpha, but the other way round, the JX3P is much less capable to match alpha tones. So you need both synths :-)"
Percussa SSP Eurorack Module Part 1 Livestream (COME PATCH WITH ME 11)

"Modular Synth Patching Live (COME PATCH WITH ME 11)
///THIS IS A LIVE STREAM///
All of this is played and performed in realtime with no edits at all.
Today I am looking at the #Percussa #SSP #eurorack module. Possibly the most comprehensive workhorse in the eurorack modular world. The module provides many possibilities from sampling, granular processing, polyphonic and monophonic playback, effects and much much more. This is part one of a series of videos in which I break down the module and what it can do.
Included DSP Modules
Build your own patches on the SSP using the following DSP modules that come with the SSP:
• Wavetable Oscillator with true 3D morphing (XYZ) and cloud features
• Sampler with Layering features
• LFO with multiple waveforms (sine, saw, square, triangle)
• Variable Frequency Noise
• DC generator
• Enveloped Generator with Exponential A and DR
• Waveshaper
• Comb Filter
• State Variable Filter
• Step Sequencer
• Granular processor with live input
• Sampler module (with separate parameters and modulation inputs for the 8 slots )
• Simple delay
• Bit crusher
• Physical modeling membrane
• Arpeggiator
• Envelope Follower
• Bus module
• Develop/load your own VST plugins (compiled for Linux/Arm)
• Switcher Module

Tulip - Ambient - Digitakt / Digitone / Tape
Published on Jun 16, 2019 Jogging House
"This is the opening track to my new album 'Lure'. It is available digitally and on vinyl here: https://seilrecords.bandcamp.com/albu...
'Tulip' has the simplest setup of all of the album's tracks. With two Elektron Digitakts and a Digitone running through OTO Bim & Bam and then directly into the Revox B77 1/4" tape recorder.
Fun fact: When the camera is shaking a bit, that's my head hitting the tripod ...
I hope you enjoy it."

Synth Stuff Ep. 57 - E-mu Emax SE
Published on Jun 15, 2019 tritonrecordings
"There were many versions of the original gray Emax sampler. The SE added onboard synthesis. The originals are the more sought after model due to the analog filters as the Emax II had digital ones. Personally I like both can't say I really have a preference. Is it worth getting one of these? That's up to you - but this makes a great alternative to the great but costly Emulator and Emulator II. it would be interesting of someone came out with a new keyboard sampler. I'd love to sample my vintage synths or VST's so I can use the sounds live without the use of a laptop..."
Waldorf Quantum and EMS VCS3 - PARTICLES

"I thought I would try and do something totally contained within the Waldorf Quantum. I use the inbuilt audio in recorder to capture the VCS3 then run the sounds through the internal granular synth engine. 100% Quantum no external effects!"

"Vintage Texas Instruments Speak & Read with original vinyl case and accompanying book with a 1/4" jack added. Tested with batteries and works great, some very slight cosmetic scuffs here and there and printing fading on the case, and an extra 1/4" output jack has been added for speaker or headphone amplification."

Arp Odyssey: 17/16 Arpeggiation
Published on Jun 15, 2019 Kris Lennox
"Korg Arp Odyssey, doing its thing. Great sound. The included is a part from a larger track (which I'll upload in the near future); given the tone of the Oddy, I thought I'd share this part on its own. MIDI track sent from DAW to the Oddy.
Interesting sound, 17 beats in a bar.
Best
Kris"
