Moog Memorymoog Plus + Minimoog Custom Zebra Wood Pair - Fully Restored //RRS//

"Here is a special RRS listing- a pair of Moog synthesizers restored inside and outside in matching zebra wood cases made by a professional wood worker.

And to boot, they’re both ideal model’s as well. Talk about a triple threat package!

This pair is being sold on behalf of our client John R, who lovingly and professionally built the zebra wood cabinets for these fantastic synthesizers. He also added red piano felt above the keys.

John then commissioned us to restore and sell the pair for him. Since this is a matching set, we will not separate the two machines.

About the synths:

The Moog is a 1974 unit, featuring a vinyl panel & cream pitch and mod wheels. Externally, it is near flawless and in incredibly good condition. Inside, it’s been fully restored by us with the full compliment of upgrades we do for minimoog’s, including a full clean out, changing of all matches resistors, new trimmers, a full thermal compensation update, pitch wheel deadband conversion, and a full recap and rebuilding of the keyboard. This minimoog is perfect, no doubt about it.

The memorymoog is a plus model upgraded with DBM midi. It has a quieter fan, and has been fully rebuilt with a comprehensive suite of new capacitors and resistor changes where needed. The supply is stabilized and the keyboard has also been revitalized for years and years of flawless performance. All common failing components have been replaced preemptively. This is a fine memorymoog no doubt about it, and flawless operates with all 6 voices tuning and stays in tune quite well between tuning cycles.

Shipping these will be expensive, as two labels will be needed. Please note you will likely need to spend more on shipping after purchase.

Because these instruments are both fine inside and out, we are aiming for a high selling price. We will not entertain lowball offers.

Both instruments, as with all of our instruments, are provided with a lifetime warranty against defects in our work quality. Should any issues arise in the future, we will be first to ensure you’re helped professionally and fruitfully. We will not accept returns of any sort on these units."

"Functional demo of this fantastic synth. One minute surrounded by air, the next throttling wooly and present. Tangible, immediate, and expressive, the 700 series is hands down one of my favorite synthesizers -- I've owned four. This particular machine came with quite a few chips toward the backside of its wooden ends (plus a sticker), but the faceplate actually looks nice. And as you can hear, it sounds awesome."

"A fantastic synth, circa 1974. One minute surrounded by air, the next throttling wooly and present. Tangible, immediate, and expressive, the 700 series is hands down one my favorite synthesizers -- I've owned four.

You may notice that this is one of the rather rare models that has the additional fine-tune pitch control on the second oscillator. Super-useful.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: This particular machine came with quite a few chips toward the backside of its wooden ends (plus a sticker), but the faceplate actually looks nice.

FUNCTIONAL CONDITION Everything works well and, as you can hear in the video, it sounds awesome.

The one exception: the EFFECT switch, which turns on and off the second oscillator. This switch is finicky. This switch was finicky on the LAST one of these i had, too. I had it fixed three times on that machine before I just swore to never touch it again. After all, it’s an entirely unnecessary switch, as the fader directly above it is the volume for the second oscillator, which is just as easy to use.

When I got THIS machine, I tried it once, it seemed to work ooooookay, but not excellent, so again, I just never used it. Which is what I’d recommend to the next owner as well. It’s just not necessary, and is one of the very few parts of these machines that isn't built like a tank.

Other than that, the only thing I’d mention... a lot of folks aren't familiar with how tweakable the 700 series is via their internal pots. If desired, there is even more sonic flexibility and customization under the hood."

"The WMD Arpitecht was designed a few years ago and was originally conceived as a quantizer. We realized quickly that there was much more to be done with this concept and that it could be a powerful bass line and melody generator when used with the right equipment.

In this video, Alex goes into use case for Arpitecht and how it partners well with the METRON eurorack trigger and gate sequencer. Starting with simple quantizing of an external sequence and then diving deep into arpeggio generation, how to use it to it's full potential to create cool, moving bass lines and melodies."
