JX-8P: An Incredibly Underrated Synth! Sounds from Scratch
Published on Oct 18, 2019 MR TUNA Music
"I bought the JX8P on a whim, it was a great deal and I figured it would be redundant in my setup. Now that I own it I couldnt even think of letting it go. What an amazing, cinematic sound from this bad boy.
No external effects or editting other than that sweet, sweet, sweeeeet H9 reverb at the end when the camera dies."

GOD's BOX Humpback // Multimode Eurorack filter with BAGS of character!
Published on Oct 18, 2019 DivKidVideo
"Here we have a newly re-panelled version of the Humpback filter from GOD's BOX. This is an 8HP SEM style multimode filter with a 2 pole response across the individual low, band and high pass + notch outputs. The input level can drive the filter for that lovely harmonic 'burn' and the two CV inputs affect the cut off with attenuators. It responds well to audio rate modulation for YOI bass, glottal overtones and odd pinged hits. The resonance is severely "hot rodded" beyond the normal SEM inspired filters giving a wide range of soft and warm bass to all out chaotic screams. I stumbled upon a weird way to create distance concrete car park reverb trails in your kick drums too. So skip around below and if you have any clue what's happening with that odd reverb I managed to create - let me know.

4ms SWN Custom Wavetables Demo
Published on Oct 18, 2019 UncertainMusicCorps
"A demo run through of some custom wavetables on the SWN. The wavetables have been designed specifically for drone use. Mostly the range of their spectral content is intentionally limited. Aiming for subtlety here (with one obvious exception). All of them were made using the module itself. No editing software involved. They were sourced by live sampling other synths and some orchestral recordings.
SWN is set up for a simple drone, with channels A & B dropped an octave and detuned against each other. The other channels also have some detuning applied. Internal LFOs are used to modulate the WT Depth and Latitude parameters throughout. Longitude and Sphere are modulated manually.
First run through is flat - all channels to 100% no LFO modulation of the VCAs. Then going back down the same wavetables with LFOs on and some chordal spread applied
Everything recorded dry, without EQ, direct to camera apart from the final 2 mins when some reverb is applied just for comparison."
