System I OR drone patch - a patch made by sending two oscillators and an audio rate LFO into the OR logic. Two of the oscillators are sent through attenuators before going into the OR to control their individual levels and influence on the OR output. The OR output is sent into a mult which is split to both the mixer output and also to the third attenuator which is then patched into the cv input of one of the oscillators producing a form of frequency modulation where it is being modulated by the sum of all three OR’d oscillators. The attenuator adjusts the amount of FM/feedback modulation. Though OR logics are mainly thought of as gate combiners - they can also be useful to produce a spectrum of sounds from crystalline and metallic tones to harsh dissonance. This patch demonstrates just one of many ways that the OR function can be used in the audio range. Reverb added via Eventide Space."

They are currently deep in sessions for “The Coat,” a new acoustic album which will be released in summer 2021. It features the Sequential Tempest interwoven with traditional acoustic instrumentation.
Suzy has a folk background (see for full details) and was featured in Bass Guitar Magazine in 2018. Simon released a contemporary folk/Americana album, The Knife in 2014 which was produced by Andy Seward and featured several highly-regarded musicians including Andy Cutting, Malcolm Stitt, David Kilgallon, and BJ Cole.

Sequential Pro 3 Sequencer & Drone Patch Sounds
Published on Mar 16, 2020 Perfect Circuit
"In this video, we take a closer look at the Sequential Pro 3's sequencer—a powerful source of melody, rhythm, and sonic animation.
Among all of its other sonic resources, Pro-3 contains a 16-track, 16-step, 4-phrase sequencer. You might wonder—why does a monosynth (or even a three-note paraphonic synth) need a 16-track sequencer? The answer lies in the 171-destination modulation matrix: in addition to producing notes, the sequencer can be used to automate the majority of parameters in the synth.
With both realtime and step input, it becomes easy to create complex, evolving timbres and rhythms based on an intuitive, parameter lock-style sequencing method. By changing the sounds' settings step by step, it becomes possible to turn the Pro 3 into much more than the typical monosynth. Basslines and leads aside, the Pro 3 can also be a generative texture generator, a grinding wavetable-based drum machine, and most anything else you could imagine.

Synclavier Go! for the iPad Gets AUv3 Client Capability and Soundfile Support
via Synclavier Digital

NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA: launched last year to widespread critical acclaim at The 2019 NAMM Show, Synclavier Digital is proud to announce continued advancement of Synclavier Go! — its innovative iPad instrument app directly descended from the codebase of New England Digital’s seminal Synclavier® II Digital Synthesizer, spearheaded by original co-inventor Cameron Warner Jones as a faithful recreation of the high-flying hit-making mega machine — at an even more pocket-friendly price for Version 1.30 (with welcomed AUv3 client capability, Soundfile support, and more), available as of March 12…
“Part of my decision to embark on development of an iPad version was to introduce my instrument to a wider audience,” asserts Cameron Warner Jones, justifying faithfully recreating the seriously-priced seminal Synclavier® II Digital Synthesizer secured by a privileged few — forever stamping its influence on music technology throughout a lengthy lifespan, ever evolving from its early Eighties entrance to an enforced exit as the cutting edge eventually became more mainstream — at a much more pocket-friendly price on Apple’s all-conquering tablet computer. Continues Cameron Warner Jones: “In this vein, we have decided to drop the price to $19.99 USD for the time being. We want as many people as possible to be given the opportunity to own a world-class instrument. If we can inspire the next Stevie Wonder or Suzanne Ciani, we have achieved our aim. And if there are price concerns with Synclavier Go! then we hope that this $10.00 USD reduction will mean more young, aspiring musicians will now have access to this professional music-making tool.”

Bob Moog Foundation Moogseum To Close Temporarily
via The Bob Moog Foundation
"Greetings to all of our BMF supporters during this time of great unease.
I am writing to let you know that we have decided temporarily close the Moogseum, located in downtown Asheville, NC, until March 31, 2020. The closure comes in response to a call for Americans to practice social distancing to help “flatten the curve” of an anticipated widespread Coronavirus outbreak.
Given the critical importance of early self-isolation in stemming the spread of COVID-19, we believe it is our moral imperative to protect our staff, as well as our visitors and our community by temporarily closing the Moogseum to the public. During this time, the work of the Bob Moog Foundation will continue, with our staff working remotely to advance our projects. While the considerations around the spread of the virus remain fluid, we will continue to reassess when we will reopen the Moogseum.
The decision to close the Moogseum comes with considerable financial ramifications. During this time the Foundation encourages you to support its work through donating or other means, explained here.
I thank you all for your support over these many years. We are a donor-driven organization and your contributions have propelled our success, including the creation of the lauded Moogseum. We are grateful to be doing this work together with you.
Wishing you and yours the best of health over these coming weeks,
Michelle Moog-Koussa

Quarantine Sessions 1 - dark ambient live jam
Published on Mar 16, 2020 Ran Kirlian
"Due to Spanish covid-19 quarantine I'm having some extra time to play with my synthesizers. This live jam started as a simple sound check, then evolved to a long track and finally became an improvissed 6 track live act, just for fun. It was recorded in one take with no overdubs and postproduction additions (so having some mistakes here and there).
It was recoded on my cell phone, which has a time limit of 30 minutes on video recording. It took me like 7 mins to notice that it was not recording before I started it again, so there is a "not live image" gap that I filled with black and white footage from the same session that it's obviously not synced to the audio.
Track list:
Part 1 - 00:00
Part 2 - 04:24
Part 3 - 23:13
Part 4 - 38:02
Part 5 - 45:50
Part 6 - 57:29
Tools:
- Minimal Eurorack System: noises, drones & random flavours
- Access Virus Indigo + Roland JP 8080 + Waldorf XT: drones, pads and lead
- Access Virus Indigo 2 (Redback): drones and lead on part 5
- TC Electronic MS3000: reverb
