"A low-key celebration of vintage computer game simulators and the poignancy of library music made with synthesizers.
Footage features the following videogames: Super VGA Harrier (DOS), Harrier Jump Jet (DOS), Falklands (C64) and Falklands '82 (ZX Spectrum)
This synth track is based on library music from an old documentary. I augmented it and reworked it using sampled synth instruments and drum machines from Samples From Mars on Ableton Live.

Here are some patch notes: --------------------------- - I have some strings recorded on Arbhar, and it's set to wavetable mode. - I'm using the Keystep Pro to send pitch information to it, and also to trigger one envelope of Rampage which is controlling the wet signal, acting basically as a VCA. - I have the built-in reverb of Arbhar active and open, and this is going to even more reverb through the Desmodus Versio. - I'm using another envelope from Rampage to control the Spray amount, and the comparator output is opening the size of the grains allowing the string samples to playback. - The same pitch information is going to the Basimilus, which is going through the Mimeophon. - I have the attack of the Basimilus all the way down, and the decay all the way up so it's quite noisy, and the wet control of the Mimeophon is all the way up, and it's set to play the repeats in reverse."

This was a fun little pack to make! I didn't dive in too hard yet as I see a megapack in the future with this tape echo machine. I recently received my Roland Chorus Echo back from service, which is a great analog tape echo with a beautiful chorus as well as reverb. It adds a ton of character to anything you process through it. My Crumar Stratus was set up from a previous video I recorded so I thought it might be fun to make a few Ableton Instruments using the Stratus/Chorus Echo combination. I hope you enjoy them! I plan to run a lot of different instruments through the chorus echo and really have some fun with the modulation in the future."
