Monome Norns Arcologies In the Woods
video by Perplex On
"Please enjoy this little ambient jam in the woods. I'm using a custom #Nornsshield loaded with #Arcologies script and two #Launchpadmini as a poor-man's Grid in combination with #midigrid library. The background pads were done by routing the raw sound form Arcologies through #BleassGranulizer and #Velvetmachine on an iPad and then loaded this recording into Norns' tape to play in the background."
Moog Matriarch // Some Mellow Sounds of Raw Moog Beauty
video by Dexba
"Moog Matriarch. I've said everything already.
In this first video, I wanted to focus on all the components' intrinsic quality and how beautiful a sound can get even without extreme patching. The only cables you will see are for automating the Spacing of the filter!
Matriarch is the current flagship (if we don't take into consideration the Moog One, a halo synth by features and price) in production by Moog, and for me, it ticks all the boxes:
- Pure analog goodness from the beefy oscillators (4 of them!) to the gorgeous filter and the delay
- Creativity & tradition, with the stereo filter and all the patching capabilities
- Onboard FX, and what an FX! MF104 built right into the synth
Yes, we can all agree that it still isn't the polysynth we maybe wanted, especially because not many people are considering buying the ONE, the price is a bit steep, but man, oh man, if that isn't the best Moog in production...
Because of this, I am also selling my Subsequent 37, an interesting project for sure, but with a character not even close to what the Matriarch can offer without a sweat.
Pure analog goodness and I am all for it!
Enjoy ✨"

Yamaha FB-01 | A Cult Classic!
video by Espen Kraft
"Yamaha FB-01 from 1986. By many considered cheap and bad, but it's the opposite. Just like the TX81Z, it has the ability to really cut through a track, especially in the important mid frequencies.
The first multi timbral sound module from Yamaha at the time, (the TX816 can be considered multi timbral though) and flexible in how you wanted to set up the midi channels and polyphony, but then the Roland MT-32 came along and blew this out of the water and the FB-01 was discontinued just the year after, in 1987. However.....
.....In the years to come afterwards, this little module has gained somewhat of a cult following. Websites dedicated to its worship came along and different genres within synth music started using it and modding it. Mods to reduce the noise, mods to increase the output gain and other stuff.
I'm using the FB-01 editor you can find here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fb01...
Some of the patches I use in the video can be found here: http://mmmazes.blogspot.com/2010/05/f...
The demo track is only FB-01 except for the drums. All the sounds are either factory presets or sounds found through the banks above.
Cheaper than a TX81Z, but for how long?"
MYSTIC FREQUENCIES - STUDIO TOUR - MAIN ROOM & YAMAHA CS-80, DX1 and DX5 Demos
MYSTIC FREQUENCIES - STUDIO TOUR - MAIN ROOM - 11-21-2019
video by Mystic Frequencies
Spotted this one in a comment in this post for a custom Roland JX-8P labeled as an MJX-70. Some good synth spotting in this one. Note the Teisco Synthesizer SX-400, Synthesizer 006, two SX-210's, and two Akai SX-240s.
P.S. Check out The Peculiar World of Teisco Synthesizers posted here.
But first, here are a few additional videos from Mystic Frequencies:
MYSTIC FREQIENCIES - YAMAHA CS-80 TEST SONG 01
"A total off the top of my head sound test for the Yamaha CS-80 in the new studio setup. I hear lots of things to fix at the mixer but the CS-80 trucks right along without fail :) Its pretty cool to re-learn the old ways of synths and their logic, programming etc... The sound you hear in this test involves 3 separate LFO's, one programmed for when you hit notes, the 2nd when you use the sustain pedal, and the third based on polyphonic aftertouch. A truly amazing synth! Still need to learn the best ways and methods to use the pitch bender strip though."
MYSTIC FREQUENCIES - YAMAHA DX1 and DX5 Jam
And a more current studio tour in the light followed by another performance with a new Teiso!:
MYSTIC FREQUENCIES - WORKFLOW for Analog Dreams

MYSTIC FREQUENCIES - SPECTRUM - NEW IDEAS TEST 02 - 02 10 2021
"Slowly working the MIDI setup to where I like it, this is test #2. This is also my first test of my recently acquired Teisco S60P synth!"
