GROUND CONTROL Firmware V.2: external CV modulation matrix, scales, modulation output

video upload by Endorphin.es

"This video describes new features added in the v2.00 firmware for the Ground Control like scales or external cv.

Firmware is available and recommended to download for all the users:
https://www.endorphin.es/modules/p/gr...

Release notes v.2.00: 29.12.2021

- CV modulation matrix added: 4 assignable CV inputs to various sequencer parameters: pattern shift, semitone and octaves offset, shuffle, ratchets, slide, gate length, CV to CC values and pattern change. Assign via TEMPO - E/ext. cv
- scales added. Selected via TEMP - N - PATT selects preset scales, TRANSPOSE-/+ selects the root note. Pressing any of the keys adds/removes them from the scale.
- TAP tempo button can be disabled in menu via TEMPO - M - C to not accidentally press it during the performance and change the tempo via: TEMPO - M - C (on/off).
- during the live pattern select shut off the key LEDs because sometimes when they overlap the patterns you can load wrong project
- pattern live mode in lock mode - changes the patterns now is sync tight
- various JSON parser fixes
- in live pattern select mode TAP also selects another project instead LAST STEP but after new project loaded it returns back to live pattern mode
- F/mod. menu improved. LAST STEP button enables smoothing/stepped modulation output
- fully rewritten manual with all v2 firmware features:

Auza Audio Wave Packets Module Test - MATTHS #shorts

video upload by MATTHS

via Auza Audio

Enveloped actions. Dynamic oscillations.

Bursts of energy. Capsulated audio.

Wave Packets is the first Eurorack module from design team Auza. Capable of generating complex envelopes, modulation signals and audio, the module allows you to sculpt your sound by producing time-limited signals or “wave packets”. Each wave packet is determined in the four primary dimensions of time, depth, frequency and wave shape. With five distinct unipolar and bipolar outputs, an infinite and unique range of shapes and sounds can be produced: an envelope growing from nothing to wild oscillation, a punchy bass drum with monstrous pitch decay, a ping-multiplied burst generator, an amplitude-varying LFO or timbre-morphing oscillator. Our novel model combines frequency-dynamic oscillation and function generation for crafting modulation and audio signals that fuel creativity. What emerges is a highly versatile production tool kit in 16HP.

The module can operate in three excitation modes: trigger, gate, and cycle. Once animated, the 3 depth sliders sculpt the wave packet’s overall contours, whilst the wave shape, glide and 3 frequency controls determine its oscillations through time. The five outputs map five distinct interactions between the contour function and oscillations. These can be summarised as: the pure contour, the unipolar wave, the resonating contour, the capsulated oscillator and the pure oscillator. As the outputs are simultaneously utilisable the module is fully self-patchable, allowing for new wave packet models to be achieved. Examples include patching a unipolar output into wave shape CV for morphing across timbres, or patching a bipolar output into depth CV to achieve audio-rate modulation. By utilising multiple outputs at the same time, Wave Packets can act as a hub for orchestrating movement across new and exciting patches.

"Kawai 100-f in fully working order & great cosmetic condition. A true gem of a portable analog monosynth from the seventies, made in Japan.

Massive basses, great envelopes, and a very wide range of audio textures to explore. from soft psychedelic flute sounds to sharp sawtooth leads and crazy oscillations, it is a very powerful and endless source of inspiration."

Ambient jam with the Tasty Chips GR-1, Sequential Take 5, and Strymon NightSky

video upload by Jay Hosking

"Please support my work on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jayhosking
A live, semi-improvised track performed entirely on hardware.

There are few options for granular synthesis in the hardware world. The Tasty Chips GR-1 has the right level of control, via its knobs and faders, and visual feedback, via its generous screen, to make granular synthesis fast, fun, and hands-on. Plus it's got 11-voice polyphony, four different timbres to play all at once, a dedicated filter on each timbre, and some effects for in a pinch. Not only can you create granular synth sounds, but you can also play looped "clouds" of the sample, or just straight sample playback at different rates, pitches, and directions. In short, the GR-1 overcomes all my issues with using software granular on (for example) my iPad, and makes the process just as fun as using subtractive synthesis.

Speaking of subtractive synths, the Take 5 continues to be a gem. Considering it's an introductory synth in the Sequential line-up, it is an amazing sounding synth with an excellent design, a nice keybed, and useable effects. It's rare to find a polysynth with a strong low end, but the Take 5 really can fill out the spectrum. I love it.

This track is the result of my Patreon's holiday collaboration, in which we all sent samples to a recipient, and received samples from a "secret syntha", and made songs from these samples. It culminated in a listening party on New Year's Eve and was a ton of fun. Thanks so much to Som Shankhar (pad sample) and jean-louis proust (drum sample) for the inspiration and the loops here!

Tasty Chips GR-1 - Three granular loops (piano, pad, sparkle) and one playback loop (drums)
Strymon NightSky - Reverb for the GR-1
Sequential Take 5 - Main synth pad

Performed and recorded live, with EQ, compression, and limiting on the master."
