50th Anniversary Serge Paperface Panels from Random Source

"Designing the first generation of Serge modules in '72-'73 was a stab in the dark.

Today, the redesign of these modules is like opening a door to a new universe.

VCOs that track. Dual programmers featuring built-in sequencing and clock.

Silver on enamel panels, yet keeping to the spirit and patch-programmability of the original paperface panels.

Glad to announce the first of several 50th anniversary Serge panels !"

Buchla 258 FM Mod Index

video upload by Todd Barton

"The Buchla 258 doesn't have a CV control for a FM modulation index like it's big brother the 259 or it's sister, the Music Easel complex oscillator. Here's a little workaround.

Soma Synths Jam: Lyra-8, Pulsar 23, Enner, and Ornament-8

video upload by Matt Lowery

"A low key jam performed on my collection of Soma equipment. Lyra-8 is sequenced by Ornament-8, and is on drone duty. Pulsar 23's filters are pinging away, and sent into its stereo delay. For the most part, I am performing on Enner using its built in oscillators, piezo, and auxiliary input."

Sequential Artist Spotlight Interview with VICTOR ATANASOV

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"Behind the music of Frenzy Jones and Dope Buzz is Victor Atanasov. Victor has been involved with the electronic music scene for more than a decade and has worked with the likes of the featured female vocalist on Prodigy’s hit single Smack My Bitch Up, as well as with Prodigy’s engineer. Victor’s music has been played numerous times on the biggest radios such as BBC Radio 1, Kiss 100 among others with great feedback from some respectable names in the music scene and business. In the recent years Victor has experimented with new sounds and genres with synthesizers and drum machines. We chatted with Victor on how he uses Sequential instruments in his music."

Sequential Pro 3 First Bank - Part 1 - Original Sounds Only

Sequential Pro 3 First Bank - Part 2 - Original Sounds Only

video uploads by Hollo Digi Design

"Ahead of buying the Sequential Pro 3 synthesizer, I did what we all do – I went online and found every clip I could on the machine. Very quickly I realized that the Pro 3 will sound different depending on the person designing sounds for it, so to add to the pile of varied content already out there, I thought I’d share recordings from my first bank of original sounds. This video is Part 1 (softer sounds - for the most part - in this video).

Detail:
All patches you hear were created within the first month of owning the Pro 3.
No external effects were used (although some sounds do have some slight compression via the very transparent FMR RNC 1773).
Sounds were recorded in one sitting direct into a Zoom H6.
No post processing or mastering was used (apologies on level changes etc.).

Some things I’ve learned about the Sequential Pro 3 synth that I wish I had known:
The Pro 3 has some of the hottest gain staging of any synth I’ve owned/used. If I compare synths like the Moog Sub Phatty, I find myself needing to be quite careful not to create overly aggressive sounds (this could be a plus too though). If you don't like subtle tweaking then this might be an issue.
Once you use a mod matrix that allows you to simply hold a button, tweak a knob to get a source, then do the same for the destination, you’ll want it on every synth you own. The Pro 3 has spoiled me here for sure."
