Sequential Max

"A polyphonic analog synth created by Sequential Circuits, and introduced in 1984. This was introduced alongside the Six Trak, and it was Sequential's lowest-cost polyphonic synth at the time. It was essentially a stripped-down version of the Six Trak, having the same voice architecture and sequencer specifications, and using many of the same components and subassemblies.

It is in great working condition and has been tested and is working great. It is missing 1 button which you can see in the photos. Included is the keyboard and power supply."

Ensoniq EPS Performance Sampler w/ Disk Library

"Tested and works great. Comes with the keyboard and floppy disk sound library.

The 'Ensoniq Performance Sampler' is a 13 bit sampler with multple options for samplerate (6.25 to 52 KHz). Using lower sample rates allows more polyphony and sample time. (12 voices at 52 kHz, 16 voices at 39 kHz, 20 voices at 31.2 kHz) It's memory is, like other samplers of this time very small at 480 Kb, offering 5 to 41 total sample time for the user, but can be upgraded with 2 expanders to 896 Kb or 2.1 Mb (4 expanders or 4 +SCSI expanders) which results in 167 seconds sample time available.

It has an 8-16 track sequencer (again, depends on memory use) with quantizing option, and seperate instrument, volume and MIDI channel. It has a 80K note limit.

The filters are digital dynamc filters per wavesample, multi-moded digital low pass, or variable width band pass with multiple slope options available. These are quite analogue sounding (regarding it's age). The EPS has 6-stage envelope generators that can be stored with presets controlling the VCAs.

The EPS is 8 part semi-multitimbral, because switching to 8 instruments loaded or stacked in one sample patch is easy. The "patch select" buttons are positioned near the modulaton wheel."

Novation Peak and Summit 2.0 Update with Enrique Martinez

video upload by Patchwerks

"In this video Enrique Martinez shows Matthew Piecora (aka EZBOT) of Patchwerks the new firmware for the Novation Peak and Summit polyphonic synthesizer.

Order the Novation Peak here: https://bit.ly/pw-peak
Order the Novation Summit here: https://bit.ly/3L7fi0i

Firmware v2.0 Features
Stereo
New spread modes, panning per voice, and panning in the mod matrix give additional control and allows for sound design in the stereo field. Now you can create bigger, wider, and more intricately textured soundscapes.

Modulation and unpredictability
Create deeper and more experimental sounds with new mod destinations, noise as a mod source, and additional LFO 3 and 4 parameters. Animate Envelopes and Arpeggiator Chance open more creative performance possibilities.

Effects
New effects, including Chorus Modes, Flanger, and Phlanger add new tonalities. Additional effects modulation destinations open up more experimental sound design. A new Lo-Fi delay mode enables a more vintage style sound.

Bug Fixes
The firmware update v2.0 includes a number of bug fixes. The full details can be found in the release notes.

Sequential Prophet 6 Tutorial Lesson 3: Filters

video upload by EthanJamesMusic

EthanJamesMusic Sequential Prophet 6 Tutorial Lessons

"This is a tutorial series for anyone who wants to learn how to do their own sound design using the Sequential Circuits (former Dave Smith Instruments) Prophet 6 synthesizer. The goal is to break this subject down into understandable and digestible bits of information that you can apply to your own electronic music. I am primarily a media or film composer, so we will learn ambient, techno, and EDM style sound design using the synth.

This third video shows the filters, their sounds, and some options. Please leave a comment with any questions or requests and a like if this was helpful."

Soundmit 2022 - Exhibit FOR FREE at the next Synthfest France

via SoundMiT

SOUNDMIT and SYNTHFEST FRANCE togheter under the sign of EMEA!

Today we have a news to share with all exhibitors and future exhibitors of SOUNDMIT 2022!

For some years now, SOUNDMIT has been twinned with SYNTHFEST FRANCE, the Nante's synth event which, like ours, is held every year.

In 2018 we created EMEA - Electronic Music Event Association. A consortium created to guarantee quality events to the public and companies.

At the same time, EMEA allows the sharing of experiences and knowledge between events and promote mutual support.

Thanks to this collaboration, Soundmit can offers to ALL THE COMPANIES present at Soundmit 2022 that never take part in the SFF, the opportunity to participate FREE OF CHARGE in the next edition of SYNTHFEST FRANCE in June 2023.

SYNTFEST FRANCE staff will be present at SOUNDMIT 2022 in the legendary VINTAGE KITCHEN with a selection of collectible synthesizers including: PPG Wave 2.3, Ensoniq SD1, MFB Dominion 1, OSCar and Pro One.

CubuSynth Modular - Engine & ADSR Eurorack Modules

video upload by CubuSynth Modular

"The CubuSynth Engine is a Dual analog VCO with wave shaping functions, internal modulations and a chaos generator. It is based around the 3340 chip and features 4 Waveforms per VCO and 4 Modulated Outputs, all simultaneously."

CubuSynth Engine Prototype noodling

"Been busy over the last months to develop a dual analog complex VCO for Eurorack.
This is a Prototype quite close to the finished module."

Build Guide - CubuSynth ADSR Eurorack Envelope Generator

Pics & module details via https://cubusynth.com:

"CubuSynth Engine

Complex analog dual VCO
Designed to bring a complex VCO, with a huge amount of possibilities and internal modulations to the DIY world, this module stands out for its visual appearence as well as its audible quality and possibilities

How it works
The CubuSynth Engine can work as 2 independent VCOs, or as a complex FM oscillator with its several modulated outputs.

With its inernal 'Chaos Engine' it creates semi-random voltages, generated by the 2 oscillator cores. This signal is then normalized to the CV inputs for Pulse width modulation and exponential FM.

Each of the 2 VCOs offers a switch to select one of the 4 waveshapes to be used by the wavefolders, and the linear FM input normalisations.
