KadImprov #11 - Desert Crossing - #ProphetRev2 - MoogMother-32 - #Syntrx - #ConcertmateMG1
video upload by KadiMusic
"While designing a patch on the #ProphetREV2 I kept going to this melody.
Playing the notes while turning the knobs.
The melody and the patch came together: Desert Crossing - A vision in the desert.
Each instrument is representing a specific element in this story.
The Moog #Mother32 for the rhythm of the caravan and heavy steps in the burning sand.
To represent the harshness of the blistering sun I created a recurring buzz sound played on the #Syntrx and a hot sirocco wind blowing on the dunes with the Realistic #ConcertmateMG1.
Let me know what you hear in the comment section.
Thank you for watching."

"Began with continuing experiments in panning audio before sending it to the frequency shifter then just followed the sound -- had no idea it would turn into this :-) Happy Holidays!"
New Casio Watch Inspired by John Mayer's Childhood Keyboard
video upload by Hodinkee
"The G-SHOCK Ref. 6900-PT1 By John Mayer features a dusty matte blue case and strap, a more playful color combination that’s an excellent companion to the first two collaborations. Peach, coral, and turquoise from the PT-1 keyboard were brought in to highlight the 'Triple Graph' display, which sits right at home in the soft cream dial. Darker grey was pulled from the sharp and flat keys of the PT-1 keyboard and added to the illuminator button. All four indicators for the buttons share the navy color from the writing on the PT-1, a perfect accent on the lighter blue background. The G-Shock Ref. 6900-PT1 By John Mayer gives you both the toughness you expect from a G-SHOCK with a colorway that will make your inner creative child smile."
"Being musicians and music fans, we here at Reverb know John Mayer for his guitar-playing and his best-selling signature Silver Sky. But he's also deeply invested in a whole other type of gear: watches.
Mayer, the horologist, is as much a figure to fellow watch lovers as he is to Boss BD-2 enthusiasts, sitting down for multiple interviews about his extensive collection and even getting into the watch design game himself.
In recent years, he's collaborated with the premiere watch site Hodinkee and a brand that, like Mayer, straddles the world of music gear and watches: Casio.
The partnership's latest creation is the Casio G-Shock Ref. 6900-PT1, a digital watch inspired by the PT-1 Mini Synthesizer.
Casio first built the PT-1 synth in 1982 and continued production until 1988, meaning it was one of the many affordable synths and samplers the company released during Mayer's early childhood.
The toy-like PT-1 is a monosynth — meaning it can only play one note at a time—but it packs in more features than parents probably expected. While there are just four simple tones (piano, violin, flute, and the mysterious 'fantasy'), there's a built-in drum machine with the same spread of rhythms you'd find on an old Roland or Korg, and—pretty amazingly, especially to a kid—a sequencer.
To really seal the deal for 'home keyboard' playing, it can run on four double-AA batteries, has its own speaker, and a headphone output.
John Mayer's new G-Shock takes cues from his own childhood PT-1, with its blue enclosure, though you can also find the synth in white, pink, black, and red."

Patrick Cowley Sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesizer + Roland TR-808 refurbished by Tone Tweakers
video upload by tonetweakers
"We recently acquired Patrick Cowley’s Sequential Pro-One. We meticulously refurbished it just like we refurbish all the similar vintage synths we sell on our website. We also added the MTG turbo CPU update and MIDI retrofit. We didn’t want to drill holes in the back panel, so we ran an Ethernet cable out of the cable slot in the back to plug into a small external midi connector box. This instrument is now part of the incomparable collection of gear at The Synth Sanctuary electronic music studio in NYC. Track programmed by @jaywires (who you should follow), who will be recording a lot with this classic instrument in January of 2023, if all goes as planned. Buy vintage synths that work like new at tonetweakers.com and please sign up for our newsletters while you’re there. Thanks!"

4ms Shaped Dual EnvVCA - Daedelus Jam
video upload by 4ms Company
"Our friend Daedelus using their Shaped Dual EnvVCA for a little radio scan inspired sample jam! Unlike conventional analog envelope modules, the waveform of each envelope can be controlled with a slider or CV without changing the envelope timing!

The Shaped Dual EnvVCA is a two-channel analog envelope generator with variable waveshaping and a stereo linear VCA. With a wide time range from an hour to 2.5kHz, and a plethora of CV inputs and attenuverters, it can be used as an LFO, audio-rate oscillator, slew limiter, waveshaper, ASR/ADSR/complex EG, independent audio/CV VCA, envelope follower, sidechain processor, and general utility module. Each channel has dedicated linear outputs plus attenuverters and offset controls for the variable waveshape outputs, making it an ideal modulation source and stereo VCA. 100% analog, 20HP, $339

Yamaha Rm1x electro house polyrhythm froschkonzert
video upload by rm1xapm
"Track: Froschkonzert. For this 1999 style electronic house track I took the Yamaha Rm1x out of my setup - back to the roots with nothing else but the blue box and a midi controller/keyboard (must have because of the velocity control). You hear internal sounds only with a bit of multi-compression in post. I used a lot of the internal effects and filters to shape the sounds. For the polyrhythm stuff I used the on board midi delay with some timing offset. My son (7 years) was helping with some nice artwork for this video."
