Vintage Cretone Rhythm Maker

This one was spotted here and sent in via M Me.

"Cretone/Teisco Rhythm Maker, Very rare drum computer. This one has had a recap of all electrolytes, but the rhythms that come out are not correct and I think a transistor is no longer working properly, it starts to crack after a while. Amplifier section works well."

This is the first post to feature the Cretone brand and Rhythm Maker. If you know more about them, let us know!

"The 252e represent a new concept in pattern and rhythm generation. 11 concentric rings, each with their own ability to generate complex patterns can be linked between another to create fascinating polyrhythms, including the built-in Euclidian rhythmic library. Three clocks drive the rings, which are freely assignable to 4 pulse and 2 CV outputs, allowing an amazing amount of flexibility to shift, cross-trigger and explore totally new musical possibilities. A rich MIDI implementation compliments the user interface that invites experimentation.

Because of all its functional options this module it offers a myriad of endless possibilities for patching throughout your Buchla system. Don's final module design is. a gas to play with!"

"This listing is for a rare, vintage Korg MS-02 Interface module. It is meant to work with vintage Korg/Yamaha synths and drum machines for communication with other brands' instruments. It does things like voltage conversion, gate inversion, etc. It looks and functions perfectly, though the power switch has been bypassed so if it is plugged in, it always on."

Sampled Kitchen Appliance Ambient Jam - Liven Lofi-12

video upload by ChrisLody

"Just for a bit of fun I thought it would be interesting to see what a jam made of non instrument samples would sound, so here is a jam just made from nothing but kitchen appliances. All sounds were recorded on a Korg SOS recorder then tuned within the Sonicware Liven Lofi-12 by playing them out loud into a tuner on my phone and tweaking the pitch.

I sampled my microwave which is used for the opening drone sound. I think there must have been some electromagnetic interference which caused the weird little rhythmic pulse that runs through it. Nice little happy accident.

The beeps from the washing machine and air fryer is kind of cheating but the result is very pleasing, especially the pitched down air fryer which take on bell like tones.

I'm especially happy with the pitched up dishwasher. The hum of its motor is particularly deep so I was expecting to use it for bass but it made a really nice melodic sound instead.

By the way the 'Typical 1990s Kitchen' image comes from a book of royalty free images. My wife has been buying them recently so they will likely pop up a lot more from now on :)"
