LudoWic is an artist and producer of electronic music. The field he works in is the transitional area of music, art and design, in which he experiments
with modern technology in combination with old vintage techniques and gear.
LudoWic was invited by D-Sound for an artist-in-residence at Theatre "Kunstmin" located in Dordrecht the Netherlands. He asked video-artist Roel Weerdenburg to join him during this residency.
Since graduating from the Utrecht School of the Arts, Roel Weerdenburg has focused on building audiovisual installations. These installations are mainly aimed at the re-use, modification and upcycling of old electronic video equipment.
Using feedback loops, noise generators, tube televisions and vintage analog synthesizers, LudoWic and Roel created a world in which they balance between control and surrender.

CyberMoog, by Benge
video upload by zack dagoba
"Here is a long-ish improvisation on the Moog modular system
The lower 2 cabs are vintage 1960s Moog 3C, the upper cabs are more modern, with most modules from Roger Arrick
This patch uses cybernetic principles for the main note generation - a combination of VCOs going into an S&H which controls the pitch and there is a feedback loop to control another connected VCO set to LFO which triggers the envelope. It's all interconnected so that it resembles randomness, but it technically isn't - it is cybernetic!
The rest of the performance is me messing with the amazing 914 Fixed Filter Bank, and also a low-fi CV-able delay in Moog format, which I love because of the wonkyness. There is 905 reverb in there, lots of panning, cross-mixing on the very cool 984 Matrix Mixer - and no other FX on this recording 😁
Some of the visuals were made with my new favourite iPhone app - Polycam 3D - it uses all those cameras on your iPhone to work out objects in 3D - then I put it into Blender to make it better
Enjoy!"
Building A Song WIth Asynchronous Rhythms
video upload by EZBOT
"Welcome to another adventure in the world of rhythm and harmony! Today's journey is a little different - we're gonna go off the beaten path and experiment with something I find really fascinating: polyrhythms and varied track lengths. Sounds a bit wild, right? Trust me, it's not as intimidating as it may sound. It's just like cooking - a dash of this, a sprinkle of that, and voilà - you've got a delicious new beat. 🎧
Every track on the machine can have a different length. That's right, each and every one of them! This results in some really cool polyrhythms and unique timings for patterns that I thought might pique your interest.

MPC Electronics MPC-1 with Tubbutec uniPulse MIDI retrofit
video upload by Harry Axten
"Pretty rare British-made drum machine from 1981, originally intended to interface with the Sinclair ZX81 computer. I’ve installed Tubbutec’s excellent uniPulse MIDI retrofit in this, using the existing sync socket for the MIDI input. The drum voices are very responsive to playing dynamics, which I was pleased to find works great with the uniPulse’s velocity-sensitive outputs.
The sequencer board in this one was wrecked by a battery leak, which is sadly very common in these. The leakage also got onto the main analogue board, although fortunately not as badly. It ate up three of the potentiometers for the Tom 4 voice, and I haven't yet located suitable replacements, hence those controls being missing and blanked off; but everything else is now working as it should, having cleaned up corroded board traces and replaced a number of damaged components."
Wersi CX5 / german 12 bit drum machine from the 80s
video upload by ohm_studi_ohm
This one is currently listed for sale on Reverb here, and on eBay here. You can find pics from the listings and an older demo posted here.
"Very quick demo of the Wersi CX5 drum machine. Classic 80s 12 bit sounds. There are 26 of them including a analog drum synth sound plus a chromatic timpani mode (!)
Very comprehensive it has 8 analog outputs, MIDI IN and OUT, Tape, Sync and a dedicated connector to plug some pads in order to trigger the sounds.
The video focus on the MIDI control of the unit and as you can see you can easily play the sounds over midi with velocity.
And thanks to the global pitch control it is a great live performance tools in the right hands (oblivously not mine)."
