"Nearly mint Prophet-5 (rev 3) from 1982

This is an amazing vintage synth in immaculate condition. It works completely without any issues whatsoever, as if it were in a time capsule its whole life. It has the original factory patches inside, and I've verified that the cassette interface works. I cleaned the bus bar so that all keys trigger as expected. I am replacing the key bushings so that they are smooth and clean. It tunes and boots right up and all voices play perfectly. Unison mode is HUGE!

Cosmetically: the wood is without any blemishes whatsoever. All the knobs are fine, and all buttons work as expected. This is as mint a Prophet from 42 years ago as you will ever see!"

"Spelled Moroco and not Morocco. This is a fantastic dual multimode filter with 4 LFOs and 2 envelope generators and midi control. It seems there may have only been 8 made. The photos show one of 2 units we have - this may or may not be the one we sell, but they are in the same condition (just about perfect). Fully tested and working great. Not sure how to put on a price on such a rare item. Price will definitely be negotiable if it doesn’t sell for a while, though if you miss this one, it’s likely you won’t find another anywhere cause they’re that rare."

There have only been four posts prior to this one mentioning the Moroco. There was a video which is unfortunately gone. You can however see the original announcement post with digital flyer there. Only one other was listed for sale.

"This unit came to us in relatively good working order, but these synths need a full restoration in order to work like new again and be as reliable as possible, so that's what we did. It's been meticulously cleaned inside and out and electronically refurbished so it's working exactly as it should, no surprises typical of most vintage synth purchases these days. We also took some important future-proofing measures, so it will hopefully outlast all others. This unit should tune better than all others too as it also includes our custom tuning stabilization modifications. This process took approximately 37 hours of valuable skilled labor which is of course factored into our price - you get what you pay for. This ob-xa contains a JL Cooper MIDI retrofit.

Here's a rundown of what our tech did - there could be more things left out:

Disassembled and cleaned inside and out
Keyboard mechanism rebuilt:
Old bushings removed and replaced with new bushings
Key guides adjusted
Bus bars cleaned
Key contacts cleaned
Keys cleaned and reinstalled
Replaced power supply caps, replaced IC socket, diodes, trims
Lots of molex connector terminals replaced
Jacks cleaned
All pots cleaned
VCO trimpots replaced for more stable tuning
Replaced most electrolytic capacitors
Recalibrated
Replaced 4053 logic IC chips x3
Replaced CV section TL082 IC chips x8
Replaced CA3080 VCAs IC chips in CV section x8
Replaced battery
Reloaded patch data
Replaced wooden sides
Repaired often defective pitchbend"

"Meticulously serviced and working perfectly. We replaced all the tact switches with new ones for flawless operation (they usually retrigger these days), cleaned and lubed all pots, resoldered stuff that often develops bad solder joints, cleaned things up inside and out, resoldered battery terminals, cleaned jacks and tested all functions and everything appears to be working exactly as it should.

The work we did to this unit to make it operationally better than the rest should add value to anyone buying one of these as it's work you won't have to pay another tech to do. This work is embedded in its higher than usual price. This item will be packed right so it arrives intact too. You get what you pay for."

"Freshly serviced by professionals (us) and in perfect working order, unlike most. The tact switches on these often go bad and cause the keys to retrigger, making it frustrating if not possible to accurately enter new patterns. We paid our tech to replace all these switches so they would work right the first time. He also cleaned and lubed all pots and resoldered jacks and pots. This is stuff we typically do to our 303s that most other sellers don't bother doing. This unit's been fully tested and is working perfectly. We'll give it one last test prior to shipping - we test our items multiple times because quality control is our top priority here."
