"Today I wanted to test a completely new setup, more compact. I said goodbye to my favorite midi controller. I decided to use uniquely the synths performance capability.
I took out the Volca Sample 2 that I never managed to use .. until now 😁
The "step jump" function of the volca sample is really interesting in a live context ! it allows you to make original transitions..

Setup:
Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, chords progression
Volca sample 2: Drums
Volca Bass: main melody
Korg NTS-1: reverb, chorus, build up with the noise oscillator and outro melody (with FM oscillator)

This jam was performed and recorded live to a stereo output.
I edited the mix in Ableton, by adding EQ and compression."

"We travel the length of San Francisco from the southern neighborhoods to the northern edge along the Bay. The ride starts on the San Jose Avenue expressway into the Mission District where we follow Guerrero Street to its northern end on Market Street. After crossing Market, we continue north on Laguna through Hayes Valley, the Western Addition, Japantown, over the hill in Pacific Heights, and down into the Marina District. At the end of Laguna, we wind our way through main streets of the Marina to arrive at the Presidio of San Francisco within sight of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Synclavier Regen - First 5 Custom Timbres by Marc Barnes


"So the lovely people at Synclavier DIgital have kindly let me borrow a demo unit of their fantastic Synclavier Regen. I've now had a good few hours with it so here are my first 5 single timbre presets. So far I have only been using the Subtractive, Additive and FM engines. I will explore the other engines in due course and and put together some sessions. (multi-layer performances)

Although I found it slightly confusing at the start the interface is actually very logical and easy to get around. I'm really looking forward to delving deeper into this excellent synth.

"Robert Moog gehört ein Denkmal gesetzt. Für mich hat er mit seinen Erfindungen die Musikwelt revolutioniert. Bands wie meine Liebslingsband Emerson, Lake and Palmer wären ohne Robert Moog und seinem Moog-Synthi nie möglich gewesen.
Ich kam neben ELP auch über Wendy Carlos zum Moog und träumte immer davon so ein Wunderwerk an Elektronik zu besitzen. Nun, heute habe ich die Smartphone-App vom Moog, die ähnliches leistet, aber natürlich nicht an die Faszination des Moog herankommt. Im Deutschen Museum München traf ich auf den ersten Moog, der in Deutschland gespielt wurde. Er wurde von Eberhard Schoener gestiftet."
