Incus Iteritas Alia | An anvil for your modular

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"They did it again. Incus is a new firmware for the Alia platform, which will also be availabe as a dedicated module. The Ataraxic and Cursus can also be installed as new firmwares. However, Incus is something special. It starts where the Basimilus stops, so they complement each other very well. Major differences are in the envelopes, FM engine and creative modulation of something that sounds like an LFO. It will make you kick, hit, strike, rise and fall like never before! Check out POB's walkthrough for detailed information.
Highly recommended as the default firmware if you already own an Alia.

"Full Disclosure: I occasionally take on freelance work at Sonicware on an hourly rate producing synth & sample sound design, beta testing, checking English text and videos like this. Any other shorter videos on my channel containing Sonicware products are not paid content.

So the ELZ_1 play is now shipping to its backers and will also go on general sale. Please see the following link for more information about that: https://sonicware.jp/products/pre-ord...

The black keys edition is shown here but is also available with white keys."

How much drum machine do you need? Perkons vs the LXR-02

video upload by Richard DeHove

"To everyone who comments on my videos, sincere thanks. Comments are one of the best things about making videos. If I can use an Australian analogy, my brain is the giant flock of sheep and comments are the cattle dogs barking and nipping to keep me on track. Which is to say that this comparison video of Perkons vs the LXR-02 came from ideas in a comment thread. At first I hesitated since it seemed like an irrelevant and unfair comparison. But the comments reminded me that these are the decisions we face all the time? Will machine X satisfy or should I try for something bigger and better?

As soon as I bought Perkons I sold my old LXR-02 thinking it was redundant. Why would I bother with such a pipsqueak when the Great Blue-Green Master had arrived? But regret soon set in and the LXR-02 returned. Why? Well, that's really the essence of this somewhat chaotic comparison. It's not an analysis of kick and snare drum frequencies, rolloff curves, or about particular waveforms. I'm not trying for lab test answers. This is a collection of critical impressions of both machines, looking at some of the fundamental differences in how they're played and programmed. I hope will be of some use and interest to you.

Gates by Ranzee

video upload by ranzee

"A quick look over the latest album Gates. There's an excerpt from each of the 16 tracks. You can buy a copy via BandCamp here:

https://sinnersmusicuk.bandcamp.com/a...

Or alternatively add it to your favourites on your streaming provider."

"An album with a theme about gates - a double meaning. For those who are knowledgeable in synthesisers, especially the modular type, will be aware of gates. Gates are a control voltage (a pulse of electricity) which is used in synthesiser things - like: clocks, envelopes, sequencers etc. Gates are voltage high or low (a square wave) – hence having an open or closed state. Working with this each track has a themed gate, such as a farm gate or a boom gate. Some gates exist in our daily lives, others are a fantasy. The noon of a gate either stops things from getting in/out or protects the things within. It has a stop/go feature."

Access Virus Ti - "Meditation" Soundset (55 Presets)

video upload by LFOstore

"There are things that do not lose value over the years - gold, platinum, true feelings and the Virus Ti! This synthesizer remains the best virtual analogue device on the market, despite the fact that its release took place more than 15 years ago. For Otto K. Schwarz, this synthesizer has a fateful significance - his career as a sound designer began in 2011, when he started to collaborate with Access Music regarding creating new presets for Virus Ti.

We decided to create a soundbank for your intention to compose harmonizing music, in which imitation of living ethnic instruments, soft and gentle pads, fantastic arpeggios, bright analog leads and even the effects of nature and the environment will be organically intertwined! This soundset is suitable for both studio work and live performances and could be easily added to your synth in a minute using the Total Integration software.

We are happy to share our more than 15+ years of experience with this device. You will receive presets in which every detail is perfected. Each preset is carefully prepared, with modwheel assigned, as well as 3 modulation knobs to customize sounds deeply to the needs of your musical works. Be prepared to the next-level presets!"

Pollard Syndrum Quad - Analog Drum Synthesizer - Pro-Serviced w/Restoration

via Analog U.S Reverb

"This one is in excellent cosmetic condition and working 100%. It has just been serviced and has had some restoration. It is ready to be used and needs nothing! It will come with all four pads and a new cable. Not sold as-is! Shipping to most countries! The shipping price is just an estimate and might be less. If it is less you will be refunded.

*** The photo listed is of another I had sold. Photos of the actual unit will be posted shortly.

Cosmetically- Nothing is ever mint in my opinion and this one is no exception. Please check out the photos. Apart from being cleaned up, the wood sides have been restored and all screws & jack nuts have been replaced. Most of the original slider caps were cracked or missing so they were replaced with ARP Odyssey style caps.

Internally- Besides any repairs, all potentiometers, switches, jacks, and xlr connectors have been cleaned, the sliders have been cleaned & re-lubed, and the power supply has been re-capped. The headphone jacks on these are extremely noisy as they are powered by a pre-amp chip with a very high gain. Because of this, it picks up a lot of cross-talk and noise. Please be aware of this!"

Electronic Music Laboratories EML 500 Electrocomp Synthesizer

"What we have today is an EML 500 Synthesizer. In the late seventies, there were a few different US based synthesizers. You all know about Moogs, Arps, EMS, Oberheims and all of the Japanese models, but EML made unique and idiosyncratic designs.

This is their 500 model, designed as a competitor for the Minimoog/Micromoog and the Arp Odyssey. In its case, it didn’t make much a ripple in the pond, but some guys from Akron liked it. Devo had a EML500 in their studio, and that should tell you all you need to know about this guy.

These are extremely rare. It is probably a Good instrument, but for this model, there aren’t a lot of choices."

Custom Korg Poly-800 with Filter and Chorus Mods

"This thing is great for dreamy evolving pads, drunk sounding horns, lofi surfing, and 80’s car chases.

The filter is modded to allow free playable control over cutoff and resonance, with a 2 pole/ 4 pole switch installed for more variety.
The chorus has been modded to allow adjustment of the rate, going into audio range for ringmod-like effects, adjustment of depth, and a true mix knob allowing for control between fully dry and fully wet.

There’s an external input, so you can run some audio signals in and override the noise.

The internal battery has been replaced with a battery clip for no-solder battery swaps and a brand new battery has been installed.

All the tact switches have been replaced, so no annoying switch bounces while trying to program a sound.

The instrument is painted to match the green lettering in the programmer menu."
