Xtensions | Shared System 'X' tutorials episode 05 | New Arrivals
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"In my Shared System X series, I am exploring custom layouts for the MakeNoise multiverse. Since most modules offer basic features (modulation, basic waveforms, ringmod) they can also be useful for learning modular techniques. I already made a 'first patch' video for the new Channel Saver and PrssPnt modules, but they can have a different purpose in every new patch, so I wanted to use the 'new arrivals' with various modules like Morphagene and Mimeophon. They are extensions to the collection you already have, and this collection will immediately extend its capabilities with millions of new options. But I'll also revisit the DXG because it has a kind of 'weird' signal path I did not fully understand.
Here are the topics for today's tutorial:
00:00 Introduction
00:10 Dynamic gates
01:52 Complex LFO's
04:06 Mimeophon meets PrsSPNT
07:38 DXG insert/return
09:03 Waveforging (making twisted waveforms)"

XAOC Koszalin | Using the Frequency Shiftor on vocals
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"Sorry for the distracting dialog, which kind of illustrates that I don't like to speak on my videos.
But this time, I had to use a voice to demo frequency shifting on vocals. I couldn't avoid it.
I could have used a professional voice-over artists, but that would make my free videos unsustainable. Regardless, Koszalin is an awesome module that can completely transform any sound you throw at it."

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Love Synthesizers - First Love FM Synth
video upload by sonicstate
"At Superbooth 2024, Kari from Love Synthesizers gave us an in-depth look at their latest creation, the First Love FM Synthesizer. This four-timbral FM Synthesizer boasts a unique interface that allows users to quickly and intuitively edit the variables of the sound. By setting points in time and morphing between different timbres, users can easily create evolving and dynamic sounds without the need for complex menu diving. The touch screen interface, devoid of numbers and wording, provides a language-less experience that encourages users to rely on intuition and experimentation rather than technical know-how.
While the availability and pricing of the First Love FM Synthesizer are still being determined as it is in the prototype stage, Kari hinted at the possibility of pre-orders being available by the next Superbooth. The innovative design and user-friendly approach of this synthesizer may appeal to a wide range of musicians, including those new to synthesis who may find traditional FM synthesis intimidating. For more information on the First Love FM Synthesizer, check out their website."

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Soma - Flux - Your Questions Answered
video upload by sonicstate
"At Superbooth 2024, Vlad from Soma showcased the innovative features of their upcoming product, *Flux*. Vlad discussed the use of neodymium magnets in Flux, highlighting the ability to experiment with different forms and forces of magnet to customize the keyboard response. You can even play Flux with a screwdriver! He also answered a question about the breakout box, which will offer MIDI output with full MPE support and 11 CV outputs 5 parameters in the left hand and 6 in the right for controlling external gear.
When asked about the possibility of playback in selectable scales, Vlad mentioned that currently, Flux offers chromatic quantization, but that the strength of the gear lies in its non-quantizing performance. Answering a question about accessing the parameters of the sound engines, Vlad explained that there are 37 different engines and up to 12 parameters for synthesis control, and each engine has unique variations. Vlad also hinted at the potential for future algorithm developments, showcasing the flexibility of Flux in accommodating additional instruments over time. For more information on Flux and its unique features, check out their website and stay tuned for updates.
Flux and Breakout Box are currently in development. Price TBC"
