cruïnn - Stereo Super Saw

"Exploring sound examples from a stereo super saw synth voice using the cruïnn.

The sequencer or keyboard sends voltages to cruïnn while simultaneously triggering the envelope generator. The CV output of the envelope generator opens two VCAs, allowing cruïnn to pass through. Two LFOs modulate the cutoff frequencies of two filters, creating a stereo modulation. Depth and Rate parameters are increased to apply phase modulation."

These kind of units are great for feedback, drony and noisy stuff but also awesome at the classic "dub mixing" technics. "I made 2 new walnut cabinets for some of my Serge Modular System panels. Not 100% ready, but at least all panels are mounted. As the panels were unmounted I made all needed repairs that accumulated during the last couple of years and also service work on the Paperface. Yes! Old synths are very capricious! Here's a quick patch I did while testing most of the system once it was mounted back."

The Synton Fénix IId

"In this video we see the Synton Fénix IId. It is built from a kit that was sent by Bert Vermeulen himself (Synton) to customers who had the opportunity to buy one around 2022.
The kit came with all the needed material. Bananas, knobs, wires etc. Only the PSU for the latest batch of kits had to be bought separately. You also had to build your on case (provisional one in this video).
I only changed a couple of components on the circuits. And it sounds great!"

"Are you an experienced Blipblox user? Maybe there are still a few functions you don't know about. In this video, we demonstrate some of the lesser known, but still very cool Blipblox features. All of these features are specific to the SK2 and After Dark models. The only features here that are available on the original white Synth for Kids is the Drum Edit and Drum Solo modes.

Summary of features described in this video:

-Hold 'RANDOMIZE' to 'un-randomize' a sound, so you can return to the last sound.

-Hold down 'Filter Mod' to change filter type. There are 3 filter types: Lowpass, Bandpass, and Highpass. This changes how the Filter lever affects the sound.

-Hold down 'CTRL2' while adjusting the Filter lever to modify the Filter Resonance. Resonance emphasizes the audio at the filter cutoff frequency, creating a 'squeaky' sound.

-Hold down 'CTRL1' while adjusting the Filter lever to modify the Delay Effect. The effect adds a spacey echo sound.

-Hold down the 'KICK' button, and press 'SEQ' activates Drum Solo mode. This turns off the synth engine, so you only hear the drums

-Hold down the 'SNARE' button while pressing 'RANDOMIZE' enters Drum Edit mode. In this mode, 'LFO1' changes the pitch of the Kick Drum, 'MOD1' changes the Kick Drum sound, 'MOD2' changes the Snare Drum sound, and 'LFO2' changes the Snare Drum Pitch. Hold down 'SNARE' and 'RANDOMIZE' to return to normal synth mode."
