1980 Dual Manual Prophet 10 Plus Eurorack

video upload by MZPdF3Neabs

"In this video, I’m using a few Eurorack modules to add some extra gravy to the Prophet 10 through the pedal inputs on the rear panel. The modules used are a Pico RND, 2HP CLK, PM Foundations Micro VCO (X2) and a Befaco Attenuverter (in my custom panel). With this setup, I can have different modulations for the Prophet VCOs and VCF, audio rate modulation and a sample and hold. There are a couple of tracks going on so it’s not all played simultaneously. This video is a bit longer, almost 7 minutes, and gets a bit weird but as always I’m hoping you’ll watch and listen to all of it."

08.06.2024 Synton Fenix - Phaser ultra power

video upload by batchas

"I am sending the audio output of the Vermona ER-9 through the Phaser in feedback mode, using it as a kind of distortion, overdrive & surprise processor.
And as usual I do record the session on video to share the first impressions. The processed sound is really impressive! Patch main connections:
Audio output from ER-9 into Audio Input processor of the Fenix IId. A-out goes to Phaser input in feedback mode. Phaser output goes to mixer.
Trigger out (fast clock extracted by Audio Input processor) goes into Env. Generator 2. Output of EGR2 goes to VCA2. Sawtooth from VCO2 goes into VCF3 Formant Filter being modulated. Output of VCF3 goes into VCA2. Output of VCA2 goes to mixer.
Trigger out goes also to the Wave Multiplier clock input, so I can divide the fast clock by 2 and send to EGR1. Output of EGR1 goes to another VCA1. Triple square from VCO1 goes into VCA1.
a. Output of VCA1 goes to Copycat bandecho."

Ambient analog jam w/ Prophet Rev2, Deckard's Dream, Moog Minitaur, Mother 32

video upload by Jay Hosking

"A live synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.

It had been a while since I had a bunch of synths on the table all at once. This one took a few different approaches before I got it. In particular, I spent a lot of time trying to find the right sequencer. I thought this would be a semi-generative piece, and tried a couple of hardware sequencers to that effect, but ultimately I found myself wanting more control. With much more time spent playing piano these days, maybe my days of generative sequencers are slowing down?

So in the end, with only a day before I was heading out of town, I decided to compose a piece in my DAW instead. And you know what? It was the right choice. Sometimes working in the box is the better way to go.

The other obstacle was my arpeggio synth. At first I had the MSW810, which is a sort-of SH-101 clone. But ultimately it was either too bright or too dull, and I couldn't get the envelopes right. I put the Mother 32 on the table and was immediately struck with how beautiful and perfect the sound of this synth is. It's such a beauty for arpeggios, and struck that perfect balance for filter and envelope, brightness and darkness. I just love the Mother 32.

Ultimately this came out sounding like a remix of the theme song for an 8-bit video game, which makes sense since that music fostered my love of synths.

Thanks for listening.

Vaemi DIY Workshop 6 Ağustos 2024

video upload by Vaemi

Google translation from Turkish follows. Original Turkish below that.

"We will assemble all the parts from scratch and make an electronic instrument, namely a synthesizer.

We will provide all the necessary equipment as VAEMI.

Technical information on the subject will also be shared.
Contact us to join the workshop.

For information and applications: vaemisynth@gmail.com

DIY Analog Drone Synthesizer Workshop

Drone Synthesizer Technical Specifications:
• 4 Voice Polyphony
• 4 Analog Oscillators
• Touch Areas and Gate Keys
• 4 Analog Envelope (Sustain, Release)
• 4 Analog VCA
• 4 Channel Mixer
• 1 Analog RC Filter
• FM Modulation
• Can work with adapter or 9V battery
• Mono Output (1/8mm jack output)

We are organizing a repeat of our workshop on electronic circuit, synthesizer and musical instrument production and design by Efe Çakır.

A class will be created for the workshop. Participation is limited. The workshop will focus on the construction of a 4-oscillator analog drone synthesizer. The class will start at 11:00 on Sunday, August 18th and will last for 5-6 hours.

All PCB and electronic components of the synthesizer you see in the picture will be provided to you completely within the workshop fee. It is sufficient to come to the class without bringing anything with you. We will also provide the necessary materials such as soldering pen, solder, paste, speaker, battery. If you have soldered a few times before, these classes may be just for you. At the end of the class, the synthesizers you have assembled will be yours. At the beginning of the class, all electronic components will be delivered to you and a set of schematics and notes about our synthesizer will be distributed. After introductory topics such as “What is electricity?”, “Basic information about electronic materials used”, “Reading schematics”, we will proceed step by step by understanding how each section works in order of “What is an oscillator?”, “What is a VCA?” on the synthesizer. At the end of the lesson, we will all be playing our synthesizers together.

For your questions and applications, you can contact us via Efe Çakır (@ertanefecakir) and Vaemi (@vaemisynth) accounts.

In order to apply, you must make a payment before the workshop date. If you want to cancel within the last week before the workshop, no refund will be made."

BTMX & Drum Brain Vol.2 | Schlappy Patching

video upload by SCHLAPPI ENGINEERING

"Episode 14 for Schlappy Patching!
Today I'll show you how to use the BTMX and the Nibblers to drive a "drum brain" in other words, a drum module consisting of multiple voices that you can trigger.
Todat I'll use my vintage SDS 8 from Simmons, a classic early 80s drum synthesizer that used to work with hexagonal drum pads. It will be a good occasion to learn how to convert gate to trigger with the Boundary!

Have fun watching!"
