"For sale here is my vintage 1970s Korg MS-20 that I bought it from the original owner in Japan. It's in excellent condition (as like-new as it can be, especially given its age). It is not only in excellent cosmetic condition, but perfect working condition as well. I've had no restoration work done on it and it comes exactly as it was released in 70s Japan.

It's a Mark 1 version of the synth with the original Korg 35 filter and it ships with the original hard shell suitcase that is very cool and very hard to find outside Japan. The case itself is in weirdly clean condition inside and out, with very few smudges or marks on the leather."

Roland Juno 106 and Roland JX3P Demo

video upload by Suspect Media

"It's been raining for the past few days, so I felt like switching things up and put together this simple, super basic, unstructured, and slow demo of the Roland Juno-106 and JX-3P. While they share similarities, each has a distinct tone. Both are awesome synthesizers.

The Juno is a bit brighter, and with the chorus on, it’s like flying through clouds. The JX has a more serious, muffled tone, which makes it great for horror soundtracks. The filter and LFO on the Juno are just insane—I get lost in the video when playing with them. The JX-3P’s LFO is pretty slow, and its filter is on the softer side. I added DCO-2 for more bite, but it has a tone I really like.

For this demo, since the Juno only has one DCO (though it has an unbeatable sub), I decided to use DCO-1 on the JX—except for one moment when I was tripping out with the filter.

I'm running both synths straight into the interface.

00:00 Recorded dry.
04:55 Recorded with Valhalla Delay."

Learning The Multi/Poly: Filters Part I

video upload by Alec Sea

"Join me on my quest to learn the new Korg Multi/Poly! In this video, I'm demonstrating the basics of the filter section in the Multi/Poly. I go through the classic modeled filters at various resonance settings, I show the crossfade and band pass modes of the SEM filter, and demonstrate the two band reject filters. Next I show how you can modulate filter cutoff with the filter LFO and the filter envelope.

00:00 Different filter types
02:50 The SEM filter
04:22 2-pole and 4-pole band reject filters
05:01 Modulating cutoff with filter LFO'
06:48 Different sync notes modes

7/20/24 Hewlett-Packard 241A & 3310A + Ibanez DD700 + Lexicon PCM 70

video upload by Cfpp0

"7/20/24 Hewlett-Packard 241A & 3310A + Ibanez DD700 + Lexicon PCM 70

There used to be hundreds of private videos in the queue, but most of them have been published now. The description of this video suggests we had just gotten the second HP 241A oscillator, so this might be the first test:

The newly-acquired second Hewlett-Packard 241A glitches a bit—sometimes a button works, sometimes not—but it seems to be getting better with some use. Here’s a simple patch with a sine wave from one HP 3310A function generator affecting the triangle of the other 3310A. Both HP 241A oscillators are hard-panned in the Fostex 2016, with delay from the Ibanez DD700. Plus some Concert Hall reverb from the Lexicon PCM 70."

Bad Gear - Wavestation

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Instruments featured on this show usually come with at least one of the following three characteristics: corny sounds that didn’t age so well, a super nerdy concept people who actually have a life wouldn’t even try to comprehend and an impenetrable UI gatekeeping the sonic goodness.

Today we are going to talk about Korg’s iconic Wavestations. These early 90s wave sequencing synths are undisputed top performers in each of the aforementioned categories and while the standard versions already require a certain willingness to suffer I - a trained professional - upped the difficulty level a bit and opted for the Dark Souls-like SR edition. Don’t try this at home or at all!

Roland Juno-106 w/ SEM voice chips - No Talking, Bad playing!

video upload by LowgainElectronics

"Roast my playing all you want. Just wanted to get some sound demos of the custom SEM voice (filter) chips in this Roland Juno-106 that I’m selling. The resonance is gnarly in the top end when pushed to self oscillation. This can make for some really cool effects. But not perfect of course. This synth was never meant to be SEM’d!"
