A Kinetik Filterbank: Skulptur with Bram Bos

video upload by HAINBACH

"The best instruments I have made solved a problem for me, and my new filterbank Skulptur with Bram Bos is no different. Audio Damage Releases Circa Looper

video upload by Audio Damage, Inc.

"A very basic noodle with Circa, our six-track looper plugin. In this instance, Circa is on the iPad, hosted in AUM. MIDI CC from the Quad Cortex's foot switches is being routed to Circa in order to control the layers."

via Audio Damage

"Equal parts workhorse and abstract creative tool, Circa is a six track multi-layer looping environment that can do most of the things your popular floor pedal looper can while also paying homage to the serendipitous world of ambient looping.

Each layer can sync to the host, a master loop, or free run, and can be triggered in sync, with an audio signal, or freely. Circa has seven stereo outputs (including a dedicated cue output for monitoring) and built-in reverb and delay. Add in a complete MIDI control system and Circa is a full looping workstation."

Introducing GRFX – Granular Effects | Granular Audio Plugin by Imaginando

video upload by Imaginando

Imaginando Launches GRFX – Granular Effects: Turn One Sound Into a Universe

7th April 2025 – Braga, Portugal – Imaginando is proud to announce the release of GRFX – Granular Effects, a powerful new audio plugin designed to radically transform sound through the magic of granulation. GRFX takes granular processing to new creative heights—offering a flexible, expressive, and highly playable environment for sound design, experimentation, and exploration.

With GRFX, users can break down ordinary audio into micro-particles and rebuild it into evolving pads and drones, glitchy rhythms, ethereal textures, or alien soundscapes. Whether sparse or dense, shimmering or chaotic, GRFX is your sandbox for bending reality—layering, modulating, and shaping sound through time and space.

At the heart of GRFX is the Harmonic Triangle: an interactive, three-point control panel that morphs your sound into chords, arpeggios, and microtonal variations. This unique interface invites exploration and 'happy accidents,' especially when combined with the plugin’s four cross-modulatable LFOs.

Modulation is made effortless with drag-and-drop routing, instant amount control, and a global

Modulation Panel. A probability-based routing system lets users direct grains to the two

multi-effect engines, the Mixer, and dedicated Delay and Reverb sends—each with independent routing for rich, layered sonic results.

"The rarest drum machine in the world – the Anvil Percussion Synthesiser prototype. As featured in a major (four-page!) Electronics & Music Maker article in the magazine’s June 1985 edition. The Anvil prototype drum machine was intended to offer user-sampling and programmable rhythm sequencing as well as a drum synthesizer section that could be triggered by pads. However the project was perhaps too ambitious and the development money ran out in mid-October 1985 before it could be completed, leaving the Anvil residing in its flight-case in a London basement for 33 years before being tracked down. The Anvil prototype is not currently functional. A final update provided by engineer Roy Gwinn indicated the top board (control panel etc.) had been operational for a year (to October 1985) and was reasonably reliable. The bottom board (sample/synth) software had been able to sample into memory, replay from memory and save/load to floppy disk. The synth section was seemingly nowhere near completion, and some software had not yet been written. This was late-1985, and the Anvil has probably not worked since then. The Anvil has been powered up recently but the 40-character display was non-functioning. The 3.5 inch disk drive appears to be non-functioning. There are various builds of software/firmware on 12 EPROMs, some of which are populated on the two boards (PR for top board, BB for bottom board), along with two BIOS EPROMs. One early build EPROM (BB) has had a pin repair, and the other has a missing pin altogether. Some EPROMs have been confirmed as having data on them, and two have been copied in a limited (unsuccessful) attempt to get some life out of the Anvil’s top board. The internal battery has recently been removed from the unit. The auction includes the Anvil, the now-external/separate XLR-XLR input 240V mains power supply (with original UK plug), original Bulldog flight-case, the EPROMs, the schematics it came with (which in some cases differ from the current internal layout), a faded computer printout of the menu commands and final summary of work outstanding (16/OCT/85), and a unique (copy 1 of 1) professionally printed Preliminary User Manual written by the current owner collating all the paperwork, user guide, scans of schematics and his own personal full-colour photographs. CAUTION: PROTOTYPE – Should only be powered up by a suitably qualified electrical technician under close monitoring. The Anvil will require significant work to be restored. Weight: 22.3kg in flight-case. Dimensions 68cm wide by 43cm deep by 21cm high (in flight-case)."

"Greetings everyone and hope you are having a lovely day. Im putting up for sale this rare very last member of Roland's fully analog drums era... 42 years ago. Instrument itself is in pretty good condition (few minor bruises and scratches, nothing major) and actual drum machine works perfectly (I cannot confirm the other features like chord or bass, since they are active only in cooperation with Roland HP keyboards). Also a sidenote, since it is a very early midi instrument and mainly designed to work with mentioned keyboards, midi works as clock in/out or start, but doesn't allow to trigger individual drums or accent. Unit was originally for Japanese 100V and has been internally switched to 240V and while I was at it, I have replaced power supply filtering capacitors with new ones for good measure. Thank you all the best."

"Modified Roland TR-606 dubbed the TR-608 As used by Hainbach. Takes the humble TR-606 and supercharges it into 808 territory and beyond with tuning, decay and tone mods. Incredible modified Roland TR-606 for sale. This is the TR-608, believed to have been modded by Filippo Samore. As used and loved by Hainbach (video below) who had this to say about it: “The mod is high-quality and truly enhances the sound engine of the 606 without compromising its handy form factor. It is almost like a TR-808 now, except maybe a little more interesting, because it is still a charmingly shuffling 606 at its core.” https://youtu.be/aovvoLD2BCs The main modification in this revisited classic is the complete redesign of the kick drum circuit with a lot of borrowed technology from the 808. - On the kick, It adds: Tune, env Control, tone and decay. - Similar thing with the snare, same borrowed technology from the 808 but with an improved decay length. - It gives access to tune, snappy and decay. - It adds tune for L.H toms independent from each other and cuts out the annoying noise present in their circuit. And finally the modification taps into the original circuit of the hi-hats opening the way to hands-on control of : Tune and decay, separate for both open and closed hats This example has had individual outs for kick, snare and toms added. It also has a Kenton Kadi port installed for anyone who already owns a Kadi box or a Kenton Pro with Kadi capabilities added then you are definitely cooking with gas! Voltage Information: Takes a standard 9v power supply (not included).

Lots of interest in this, so a couple of answers to questions: 1) The individual outs are Bass Drum, Snare, Toms 2) Each individual output has a fixed volume and is completely independent of the master output. You can still feed the bass drum out through the master output if you want. Or turn it down to mute it from the master volume. 3) Din Sync is untouched and works as originally intended by Roland."
