Album with Make Noise only - Fracture #03 Live Performance

video upload by Anton Anru

"πŸŽ† Fractures is the result of a series of experiments with the Make Noise modular trio: 0-Coast, Strega, and 0-Ctrl. This combination of instruments is perfectly suited for generative ambient music, where hypnotic repetition merges with expression and dynamic movement.
πŸ’½ I recorded a 10-track album using only three Make Noise devices and VST effects. All tracks were recorded live in a single take, with no additional editing. Each piece is built around a sequenced pattern and a complex patch that evolves continuously, shaped manually in real time.

The album is available on all streaming platforms.

➕ Bandcamp: https://anru.bandcamp.com/album/fract...

The album explores a wide emotional range — from brighter, more uplifting moments to darker, more noise-driven textures — offering a diverse sonic journey shaped by the raw, living nature of modular synthesis.

πŸ“’ I also have patches for Make Noise and other synthesizers: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/

πŸŽ› Lately, I’ve been more interested in working with simpler forms rather than complex arrangements in DAW. Semi-modular synths are perfect for this approach. In this case, the arrangement is the patch itself. If it’s well thought out, you can easily play a full track in a specific genre—like ambient or techno—using just that one patch.

πŸ“ I’m curious to hear your thoughts—does this kind of format immerse you in a certain mood or evoke a specific emotion? Or does the sound feel too experimental and harder to connect with? I’d really appreciate any feedback. Enjoy listening!"

Shakmat Modular Bishop's Miscellany MK2 Released

Demo video upload by Shakmat

"Instant riff maker, that’s how the first version of the Bishop’s Miscellany was described by the users, and it became a guiding mantra throughout the development of this new version.

The Bishop’s Miscellany mk2 is a dual stepped CV/Gate engine built around three core components: a sequence recorder, a CV/Gate processor and a (Re)Generative engine. Sequences can be intuitively recorded, quantized, generated, edited, rearranged, mangled, stored and recalled with ease.

The module features a non-volatile memory on SD card, capable of storing thousands of sequences. Paired with its flexible playlist mode, it becomes a compact and powerful sequence player, equally suited to live performance and detailed studio composition.

Pattern looper, CV/Gate multi-effect, duophonic generative sequencer, two-track sequence player, the Bishop’s Miscellany mk2 does it all, seamlessly shapeshifting from one role to another.

"In today's episode, we'll explore the Octatrack's ability to host hundreds of effects in a single project. This allows you to use them with different gear for various situations, all from one device. I find it to be a total game-changer for live shows, and I'll explain why."

Hurray... Take 5 and TEO 5 Desktop Units

video upload by Starsky Carr

TEO 5 announced here

"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.

Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"
