Debut performance on November 22th 2025, Kino im Sprengel, Hannover, Germany -
The idea to make a feature length performance playing a Silhouette Synthesizer had been there since 2017. But besides developing the audivisual Silhouette Synthesizer it took that long time to get an idea about the story I wanted to tell, in picture, sound, poetry and rhythm.
The plot background is autobiographic and the media used in the individual acts uses disciplines of art and life I touched and used before: toys, puppets, machines, songs, poetry, audiovisual art, stages and audience. I wanted to implement a colourful variety and I tried not to limit my joy of combining and performing this.
I wanted to show the Silhouette´s game on the 2D screen but also to play inside and with the room between the screen and the audience, to make it a room where a multifunctional installation tells a multimedial interdisziplinary story. "Revue" means a special kind of show but also an overview, a compilation of scenes, maybe even a row of memories revisited.

"Electromagnetic Sound Waves and Modular Synthesizers

In this video, we captured electromagnetic waves from the environment using the VAEMI El-Ma Ørsted V2 and transformed these invisible signals into sound through a modular synthesizer system.

The El-Ma Ørsted V2 is an electromagnetic field listening device that detects radio waves, electromagnetic activity, electrical signals, and environmental interference around us. Unlike a conventional radio, it allows access to a much wider spectrum of electromagnetic sound sources.

Throughout the performance, these raw electromagnetic signals were processed and reshaped using various modular synthesis techniques and modules including filters, pitch shifters, frequency shifters, ring modulators, wavefolders, and other signal processing tools. The result is a constantly evolving interaction between the invisible electromagnetic world and analog sound synthesis.

This project explores the hidden sonic textures of everyday electronic environments and turns them into a performative and musical experience."
