Terrain Synth: a novel synth by Conductive Labs - #Knobcon 2025
video upload by CatSynth TV
See the announcement post here.
"We get a tour of the new Terrain Synth from Conductive Labs. Terrain synthesis expands on the concept of wavetable synthesis by treating the wavetable as a 3D contour that can be traversed in any path or direction (i.e., not just forwards and backwards through the individual wave cycles). These "terrains" can be traditional wavetables as well as mathematical functions (like the complex maps we have featured in some of our math videos), or even JPEG and PNG images.

Paradise 😇 (Moog Minitaur // Waldorf Streichfett // Roland S1 // Volca Beats // Mininova // NDLR)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"An unexpected impromptu performance with the same setup as my previous video, hope you'll enjoy it! ❤️
The NDLR is sequencing with:
Drone track: the Moog Minitaur (BASS)
Pad track: the Waldorf Streichfett (PADS)
Motif-1 track: the Roland S1 (ARP)
Motif-2 track: the Roland S1 (ARP)
The DRUMS are coming from the Korg Volca Beats and the LEAD is being played in real-time on the Novation Mininova.
00:00 Intro
01:07 Improvised Solo
02:40 Bridge
03:14 Outro
A couple of tricks I used here:
I used the STUTTER EFFECT of the Volca Beats as a delay here on only one voice (not the master bus). First it's on the Open Hi-Hat and then swapped to the Closed Hi-Hat (creating a sixteenth note rhythm without changing pattern)
I'm using one of the NDLR's LFO (Square wave) to modulate the octave of the PADS.
I've used the hidden CHORUS of the S-1 synth to create the wide ARP 😉"

Conductive Labs Announces Release 3 for The NDLR Rev2

via Conductive Labs
New Motif, Rhythm and Modulation Features for The NDLR Rev2 are here!
Conductive Labs is proud to announce Release 3 firmware for The NDLR Rev2. This significant feature update enables deeper rhythmic and melodic exploration for its flagship MIDI Groove Box. The Update is available now at ConductiveLabs.com along with an updated User Manual.
Release 3 unlocks advanced creative tools for live performance and studio production, including:
● Euclidean Rhythm Mode for the Motif Rhythm Editor – Users can now generate rhythms using the Euclidean Algorithm by setting the length (4-32), number of beats and rotation (offset), ideal for complex and world beat style rhythms and evolving patterns.
● Motif Pattern Step Modulation – Enables dynamic modulation of individual steps in a motif pattern, perfect for creating evolving basslines and more varied melodic sequences.
● Perlin Noise Pattern Generator – Creates organic, evolving note patterns for The NDLR’s two Motif parts.
● Motif Gate Length Control – Offers fine-tuned control over gate length for each motif part.
● Global Patch Save Slots Increased from 8 to 20 – More onboard storage devoted to global patches and settings.
● New Mod Matrix Destinations – Expanded modulation capabilities for Perlin Noise parameters, Motif Gate, PAD Strum, Spread and more.
● Save/Load Perlin Noise Pattern Generator Parameters – In addition to saving in global patches, users can now store and recall custom Perlin Noise settings separately.
● Drone part note velocity is now configurable.
● Additional MIDI CCs for new features.
● And various usability and MIDI synchronization enhancements. See the updated User Manual in the downloads section.
Released in September 2023, The NDLR Rev2 is easily identifiable by its signature red powder-coated base and continues to be a favorite among synth enthusiasts and modular synthesists for its deep integration of rhythm, harmony, and modulation.
The NDLR Rev2 is available now at ConductiveLabs.com and through select music equipment retailers worldwide. Release 3 firmware is a free update for all The NDLR Rev2 owners, and those who participated in the NDLR Rev1 upgrade kit crowdfunding. If you missed the crowdfunding, a limited number of upgrade kits will be made available at ConductiveLabs.com in September 2025.
What is The NDLR?
The NDLR (pronounced “The Noodler”) is a multi-part, polyphonic, sequenced arpeggiator. Or it could be described as an Interval Sequencer MIDI Groove Box, if you like. Programming a traditional sequencer gets you a melody, but when it comes to changing the Key or Chord it becomes a challenging production. The NDLR solves this problem by playing all of the parts out of a common note pool, so when you change the Chord all the parts change with it. Little effort, big results! Get your synths playing in time, in key and make great electronic music without being a master at the keyboard.

How To Loop All The Gear In A Studio: Sequencers/Mixers/Synths
video upload by MR TUNA Music
"Hello my friends this video has been a very long time coming. Its been years since I have done an updated studio tour and rundown so I figured today was a good day to catch up!
The reason it's taken so long to do something like this is because I've always been so overwhelmed at the idea of doing it right........ So instead of making a big production out of things we're going to keep it cool and casual and just see what catches out attention as we go. Thats the only way this is ever getting done!
The most important part of my studio is the @ElectricSquad@squarpinstruments Hapax sequencer. The Hapax is connected to every single piece of midi-equipped gear in the studio via 5-pin din or usb and is what allows me to loop everything in sync with each other.
When I play the keybed or change the controls on a synth, I'm not directly playing the gear so much as I'm playing it through the Hapax. With local controls turned off on the synth, all of the notes and midi information is sent OUT to the Hapax and does not trigger the synth in question (yet). After it gets to the Hapax it is run through any enabled MIDI effects and (if recording is armed) is recorded into the loop before it is sent instantaneously back to the synth in real time in a way you cant even tell that its happening. This way you can enable effects like arps and harmonizers on synths that dont have them.
All the audio from every synth and drum machine is sent to the tower of 3 Roland MX-1s. the MX-1s send MIDI sync and power through usb to some AIRA-link enabled pieces of gear and simplifies some cabling that way, and every track can be sent to Logic and recorded individually as its own instrument when combined as an aggregate audio device on my macbook."

Intro to The NDLR (rev2) Motif Gate Control & Perlin Noise Pattern Generator
video upload by Conductive Labs
"Coming soon for The NDLR (rev2) (finally) a Gate control for the Motif parts. We plan to release a beta of the firmware on our forums before end of Nov 2024. There was lots of code refactoring under the hood to enable this feature and others planned for the future, so a beta test is warranted before release.
See https://conductivelabs.com for more info on our line of MIDI widgets made for synth-heads"
