Korg Volca cover: Music For A Nurse (Oceansize)
Published on Dec 28, 2017 Marco-Antonio Mejía
"This is a cover of Oceansize's song 'Music For A Nurse'.
The Modstep iPad app sends the MIDI notes of the chords (Volca Keys) and bass line (Volca FM). The melody is played on the Volca Bass.
I use the Belkin headphone splitter to merge the output of the Keys and Bass and send the combined sound to the GFI System Specular Reverb V2.
Other gear:
Arturia Keystep
Retrokits RK-004
Behringer XENYX QX1002USB
Apple iPad (2017 model)
Apple iPhone 7 (video recording)"

"A superb 1976 Minimoog for sale recently serviced and in excellent condition. It features the original oscillator board and sounds wonderful.
It's in excellent condition overall - there's some cracking to the plastic front panel around oscillator 1, but this doesn't cause any issues in use. The owner refinished the case in a classy dark wood stain some years ago - it presents very well.
There are some minor marks/dings to the woodwork and case, see detailed photos for more information (photos to follow). This Mini was serviced by one of our approved techs last year and is playing very well.
Set for UK 240v use, but can be switched back to 120v if required."
Dark one, almost, if not all black.

"Stunning near mint Promars for sale serviced and in the original Roland case. This is a superb example of this classic late 70s Roland analogue synth.
In very near mint and exceptionally-clean condition with only very minor marks and signs of use; you'll struggle to find a better example.
Often thought of as simply the monophonic sibling of the Jupiter 4, the Promars in fact features two de-tuneable oscillators for its one voice, making it capable of creating some very interesting noises indeed.
It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required."

"It has had an extensive service with new bushings, key contacts and sliders/switches cleaned and the power supply re-capped. The synth has been re-calibrated and is sounding superb.
Now reissued by Korg, this is a chance to buy an iconic original in excellent order. Effectively a hard-wired compact version of the monster ARP 2800, the Odyssey is revered for its signature sweeps, leads and bass sounds - like an albino time machine, it transports you back to the golden age of analogue synthesis.
Condition is excellent with a few scratches and scuffs to the case, most of which are on the back of the unit. There is some paint damage from the bolts on the underside of the face but nothing too noticeable, there is a photo displaying these minor flaws. The black plastic side panels have been cut down at the back to make them flush with the back of the unit (possibly to make it fit somewhere in the past). This work has not been done professionally and is rough around the edges as shown in the photos. Click on the photos to zoom in and see more detail.
It is a 110v model.

'Fully serviced and calibrated. Sounds superb.
The condition overall is very good. It has a few scuffs and scratches to the end panels and is also missing its grommets from the front face - don't let this put you off a great instrument that is looking good and ready to play. See the detailed photos and click on them to see large versions."

All Make Noise ambient modular synth performance: Places - POB
Published on Dec 12, 2017 Patrick OBrien
"Ever since I picked up modular in the fall of 2014, the dream was to one day build a patch on an all Make Noise system and perform it live. I have to admit I was intimidated in the beginning, but that didn’t stop me from slowly building my case over the years, learning the modules, and one day making it happen. Now, I can say I took the big leap.
Over the weekend I performed live with my Make Noise system in front of an intimate crowd in the back room of a cocktail bar here in Los Angeles. The outcome was something unexpected— something magical I can’t explain. The joy of having accomplished such a feat leaves me lost for words. And, playing an ambient piece was way out of my comfort zone, but I let my mind work intricately with the machine, and the result was truly my best modular synth performance to date.
This video is the culmination of all I’ve ever put into music my entire life, and I hope you can grab some headphones, close your eyes, open your mind, and give it a listen today. Thank you.

IN STEREO
This is a live modular synth ambient performance using only Make Noise Music modules. This set was performed at Triptronics held at Little Joy in Los Angeles, CA on December 10, 2017.
Titled, "Places" because you're going there.
I played this set with other great performers that night: Izapa, Pablo Perez, Andorkappen, and the2vvo.
Make Noise eurorack modules (12 total):
Top row: DPO, Mysteron, Maths, Optomix (2016), Rene
Bottom row: Pressure Points, Tempi, tELHARMONIC, moddemix, MMG, Morphagene, Erbe-Verb
The 6U case is from Dark Modular Cases. The layout of Make Noise modules in the case can be found on ModularGrid: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/288832
-------------------------------
No computers or outboard gear were used in this performance -- just modular synths recorded live in a single take.
Video was recorded with an iPhone 6+ then synced using iMovie."
