This pair of audio and MIDI effects are mostly designed to first capture organic gestures performed in their X/Y panels and use them after as control agents for both external parameters and others within Ableton Live.

Mime features two main sections. The first one creates, records, plays back and saves X/Y coordinates. The second uses them to shape four individual control sources, defining different kinds of MIDI control messages (CC, Pitch Bend, Aftertouch, etc) or simply mapping specific Live parameters from the control outputs located in the Route section.

"The SitannSpin MaxforLive device plugin combines two step sequencers in one to be used to generate drums, melodies, or trigger samples.

Using probability and retriggering to generate variations. The complexity and rotation dials ‘focus’ variations in areas that you want. This device is great for adding accents to drum mixes.

Alternatively turn it to a MIDI note generator and you can generate melodies.

You can also separate the plugin into two sequencers and generate bass notes and treble notes.

This is a great ‘swiss army knife’ for your MIDI tool kit. With the drift function you can add high hats that sit back a little in your drum patterns. The variation setting can add a probability or can ‘humanize’ to number of times the drift it applied.

This little device is far more powerful than the playful name implies and can be used as a performance sequencer or as a music composition and creative tool.

Each activated pulse “arm” is driven by its own clock, defined by a base musical rate and multiplier, along with controllable length, at a specified MIDI note. Trigger, octave, and velocity can all be randomized to add a wealth of variation. Note values, base rates, and rate multipliers for all arms can be randomized globally, within set ranges; click the global dice to instantly produce a unique starting point. Outgoing MIDI can be transposed via incoming MIDI clips or real-time input for uniquely interactive musical results — all of which conforms to a selected scale and key. An optional cycle reset interval constrains otherwise endlessly sprawling polymetric structures to more predictable bar-length patterns, while a base offset and multiplier can stagger the entire pattern offbeat.

Four playback modes allow it to interact with other MIDI elements in a project — or be deployed as an unconventional, retriggering arpeggiator. Optimized for Push with full Info View annotations and bundled Global Hub integration, Octopulse provides a fresh approach to probabilistic polyrhythms. Songbird is a MaxForLive audio instrument. It features a simulation of a flock of birds, each bird having its own model of a syrinx (a bird vocal organ) as well as a model of a simple birdbrain that controls the syrinx to create different syllables. Each bird’s position, speed, angle, etc in the flock can be mapped to various parameters as modulation sources. This device yields anything from textures, drones, rhythms, harsh/haunting/noisy/pretty tones, generative soundscapes, odd melodies, and of course different sounding bird calls!

"Whistle 2 is a physical modelling synthesizer with a banded waveguide as a resonator, disturbed with a granulated noise exciter source.

Banded waveguide synthesis is a physical modeling synthesis method that can be used to model elastic solids, like a vibraphone or a marimba. The synthesis method propagates exciter disturbances across tuned frequency bands. In whistle the amplitude and the partials of these frequency bands can be dialed in and automated.

The exciter of Whistle uses a granular engine to process the noise source. This design creates a uniquely unpredictable texture, with any tonal elements in the exciter source interacting with the resonator to create random harmonic content."

WHAT IS MIDI WAVES?

Midi messages such as pitch, velocity, duration and gate are generated using LFOs that can be all set independently to create midi events and patterns that could otherwise be hard to achieve using a sequencer or a keyboard.

Because each item in the list has its own LFO, each of those LFOs can be offset from each other to create these unusual cascading events that go in and out of phase and go off kilter with each, other but are still snapped to a musical scale so they can sound quite pleasing and can enable you to come up with very interesting, beautiful phrases or perhaps weird ones or scary ones or perhaps nothing at all. It's entirely up to you!

In Live, the output of the device can be routed to another Midi track where the notes it generates can be captured to regular midi, enabling you to capture moments that inspire.

"Trance is a genre that by the definition of the word means hypnotic, Trance Foundations meets that need for the Novation Circuit Tracks!

The music doesn't stray from this concept and has been played on by artists throughout the years.

Trance Foundations takes you back to that early Euphoria days, when Cassette was a thing.
Combining hypnotic melodies, strong chord progessions, gated arps, along with solid kick drums and 909 style hats and percussion. Trance is a genre that Novations Circuit Tracks leans with ease.

Often one melody and harmony is enough with drums to keep a section interesting. This pack takes it further by giving you a third instrument column in the sample pool.

"Although primarily a genre built around the use of vintage samples of real instruments, funk and jazz, hiphop and the wider hiphop-inspired genres have incorporated many synth sounds and of course sampled classic synths. The west coast sounds of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg drew from the synth sounds of P Funk. Modern expressions of hiphop, such as the LA beatscene which includes Flying Lotus, MNDSGN and Nosaj Thing have fully incorporated synths into their sound, inspired by electronica as much as classic hiphop.

This pack was inspired by such artists, as well as UK hiphop, triphop and leftfield electronic producers as varied as DJ Shadow, Wagon Christ, Dabrye & Boards of Canada.

64 patches range from funk synth basses, lofi dusty keys, woozy synths, glitchy leads and tinkling percussion. The Macros mostly follow the suggested functions of the Circuit Tracks to facilitate an intuitive workflow.

The 64 samples are nearly all drum sounds, featuring many minimally processed funk hits, as well as synthesized hits made with Serum and also given some lofi processing. All of the synthesized hits are pitched to G, including the obligatory 808 bass. The drums can always be processed even more on the actual Circuit using the repitching, distortion and filtering, which is demonstrated in the included Projects/Sessions.

Included are 16 demo Projects/Sessions which include reconstructions and mashups of tracks which provided inspiration for the patch creation, as well as some original ideas.
