John Frusciante with an ARP 2500

Spotted this one in a Stranded Records email. John Frusciante has been mentioned in few posts here.

"John Frusciante is best known for his work in the band Red Hot Chili Peppers. His solo career, however, charts an entirely different path: from experimental rock and DIY 4-track recordings to ambient and electronica.

Record Collection recently announced reissues of a slew of Frusciante's long out-of-print records including 2004's Inside of Emptiness, The Will to Death and A Sphere in the Heart of Silence, 2005's Curtains, 2009's The Empyrean and 2014's Enclosure. Recommended for fans of Syd Barrett, Michael Rother and Vini Reilly.

ROLAND Juno-106

"It's exceptionally important to mention that this 106 is in it's original, unmodified, unaltered, condition. This is rare!

Some very old tape goo still exists on the back panel and near the Portamento control area, and on the back panel near output, level, tune, and function areas. I'm leaving that to the new owner to manage to their liking, as this is part of the instrument's history.

I am a Vintage Synth repair/restoration electronic technician with 44 continuous years experience in sound, music and synth electronics. I've repaired and restored hundreds of vintage synths and related electronic gear over the years.

All makes, models, proudly, for many musicians.

I've restored synths for Elton John, Depeche Mode (Thank you, Martin!) Red Hot Chili Peppers (John Frusciante) and many more.

All voices play correctly, chorus and effects all work, all controls are very clean and smooth, key action and contacts work perfectly.

I've repaired, serviced, modded, and restored several dozen Juno-106 units over the years. I can honestly say THIS unit is the cleanest and best working 106 that I've ever come across."

3 Impressions | M. Geddes Gengras - feat. Discontinued Moogerfoogers

"Today Moog Music announces the release of 3 Impressions, a practical application of Moog electronics, produced and composed by M. Geddes Gengras. 3 Impressions is a 3 song EP that serves as an exploration of analog effects modules and process-based sound design. Gengras utilized various Moog analog effects and synths such as the Moog Sub Phatty Analog Synthesizer, MF-104Z Analog Delay, MF-105M MIDI MuRF and a MF-107 Freq Box for the recording.

The announcement of Gengras' EP coincides with Moog Music's announcement of the discontinuation of two of the Moogerfooger analog effects pedals used in the recording: the MF-105M MIDI MuRF (est. 2009) and the MF-107 Freq Box (est. 2007). Moog plans to continue building a limited quantity of units at their factory in downtown Asheville while parts and materials last. The MF-105M and the MF-107 have found their way into countless studios and stage rigs around the world. Users include Arcade Fire, Panda Bear, Dan Deacon, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Joey Santiago of the Pixies. If you are interested in purchasing one, please visit an authorized Moog dealer.

M. Geddes Gengras' work is described as being 'based in modular synthesis, comfortably straddling a variety of forms and remaining rooted in a deep affinity for the limitations of analog electronics and a keen ear for timbral manipulation.' His extended exploration of the modular inter-connectivity of Moogerfooger analog effects on 3 impressions is a testament to Bob Moog's vision of creative expression through control voltage."
