MOOG SOUND LAB | Sylvan Esso

Published on Sep 5, 2013 MoogMusicInc·251 videos

"Amelia and Nick of Sylvan Esso came into the Moog Sound Lab armed with only a Laptop and a voice. They surrounded themselves with an array of Moog synthesizers and Moogerfoogers to rework their debut single "Hey Mami".

How'd they get that sound?

· Amelia is singing through an MF-104M Analog Delay and live looping her voice to create all of the harmonies.
· Kick drum was created using the filter resonance and overload on a Slim Phatty
· High Hat is a Voyager Rack Mount and Nick is tweaking the Filter Cutoff to change the pitch of the high hat
· Snare Drum is created with a Voyager Rack Mount- a combination of noise with the input being driven and processed through a 500 Series Analog Delay
· Nick is using Ableton Live to record and trigger all of the live samples. The entire MIDI sequencing of all the Moog gear is coming from Ableton, but all of the automation is being done manually by Sanborn
· The harmonic bell-like sounds are from a Sub Phatty
· Bass lines are a Minitaur bass synthesizer. An MF-104M Analog Delay is turned on and off as he adjusts the pitch on the fly throughout the song.

SH-101 + TR-8 + MF-104M + KaossPad = Dance With the Color Blind

Published on Aug 23, 2015 n3bsvid

A little 80's influenced semi-improvised pop jam. It was recorded as two separate videos and then fused together.

The vocal samples on the kaosspad are me "singing":
A. Dance with the color blind
B. Look for the bottom line
C. Listen to the sky
D. Tell me you're a firefly

Hardware:
Roland SH-101
Roland TR-8
Analogue Solutions Oberkorn MK3*
Korg KaossPad
Moog MF-104M analog delay moogerfooger (used on the SH-101).

Software:
ValhallaDSP VintageVerb
Ableton Master Plugins

* The Oberkorn was just used as a way to sync TR-8's clock to the SH-101, I just ran a sequencer gate from the oberkorn to the SH-101's Gate input. It's overkill in this case but it's the only piece of gear I had that could do this."

MOOG MF-104M + KORG VOLCA BASS ~ Will They Pair? Ep.01

Published on Dec 14, 2016 once upon a synth

"I feed the Korg Volca Bass analog synth into the Moogerfooger MF-104M analog delay pedal and just keep tweaking. 'Will They Pair?' is a series where I try to combine two pieces of musical gear together to see what kind of sounds I can come up with."

MF-104M & Minimoog - video #3

Published on Feb 28, 2016 noddyspuncture

"Here the Minimoog is being sequenced by the Q960 and other CV and gate modules whilst also being processed by the MF-104M. 'Playing' the knobs and switches gives the variation, and you can almost make a 'piece' out of a sequence. I quite like cutting the echo for a while and then sticking back in...!"

ELEKTRON ANALOG DRIVE + KORG MONOLOGUE + MOOG MF-104M ~ Feedback Insert Effect

Published on Mar 6, 2017 once upon a synth

"In this video I explore using the Moogerfooger MF-104M's Feedback Insert feature which allows you to run the delay repeats through external effects. In this case I run the feedback chain through Elektron's Analog Drive distortion pedal. The Korg Monologue (analog monophonic synth) is used as the sound source. Hopefully this gives you a general idea of the kinds of things you can do with this cool feature."

Moog Matriarch Delay Comparison: Matriarch, MF 104m and Moog 500 series analog delay

Published on Sep 19, 2019 Modular Landing

"In response to a request, here is a comparison of the Moog Matriarch analog delay with two other Moog analog delays: the Moogerfooger MF-104m and the Moog 500 series analog delay. The Matriarch is supposedly modeled after the Moog 500 series. So how close does it get? Let me know what you think in the comments!

BTW: I tried to level match them but it's a quickly made video so apologies if it's not exact."

Sylvan Esso | H.S.K.T. | MOOG SOUND LAB

Published on Sep 23, 2015 Moog Music Inc

"Sylvan Esso return to the Moog Sound Lab to re-imagine 'H.S.K.T' from their self-titled 2014 release. Using Ableton Live to route MIDI messages to an array of analog synthesizers, Nick Sanborn controls his Minitaur for basslines as well as a tower of Minimoog Voyager Rack Mount Editions to produce H.S.K.T.'s percussive track. Ableton's master MIDI clock locks the arpeggiator tempo of a Moog Sub 37, which all ran through an MF-104M Analog Delay. Vocalist Amelia Meath played a Werkstatt running through the Minifooger Delay, and sang through another MF-104M Analog Delay. Nick then sequenced the whole thing with his Akai APC40. The only prerecorded sound was a loop of of Amelia singing "wanna get" from the original track.

Sweetwater Minute - Vol. 193, Chick Corea Interview

Published on Apr 26, 2013 SweetwaterSound·1,413 videos

"Mitch interviews jazz master Chick Corea, who visited Sweetwater for a workshop in celebration of our company being named the Moog Dealer of the Decade.

Moog sponsored the workshop with Corea, who took the stage before a capacity crowd in our Performance Theatre. Corea played and answered questions for nearly 2-1/2 hours, then signed autographs, met and talked with fans, and posed for photos after the show. Corea's gear included a vintage Rhodes electric piano (courtesy of Sweetwater's studios), a Moog Voyager XL, and a Moog Moogerfooger MF-104M analog delay. See them at the links below:

Moog Grandmother meets Moogerfooger delay pedal

Published on Sep 25, 2018 once upon a synth

"Running a Moog Grandmother synth through the MF-104M moogerfooger analog delay pedal. This is a sound demo, no talking. Disclaimer: I think my BBD chips are starting to give, some of the sounds you'll hear are a bit dirtier and aren't stock on the MF-104M."

Moog Sound Lab | Deltron 3030 | Nobody Can

Published on Nov 26, 2014 Moog Music Inc

"Alternative hip-hop supergroup Deltron 3030 came into the Moog Sound Lab to re-imagine their song “Nobody Can” off of their 2013 album Event 2.

Del The Funky Homosapien runs his vocals through an MF-104M Analog Delay to add a warm slapback echo to the track. Kid Koala uses a Minifooger MF-Delay to effect his unique style of turntablism, while Dan The Automator commands a Minimoog Voyager XL. From the 3030 Orchestra, Takahiro Tozawa saturates his guitar tone with a Minifooger MF-Drive, bassist Juan Alderete fills out the bottom end with a MF-101 Low Pass Filter and Alex Swain triggers percussive accents from a rack of Minimoog Voyager RMEs.

Moog Minifooger MF Delay - BBoyTechReport.com

Published on Apr 30, 2014 BBoy Tech Report·70 videos

Demo starts after 4:16.

"The Minifooger MF Delay costs $219, nearly $400 less than the MF-104M. That my friends is a great deal, in my opinion, for a classic Moog Bucket Brigade based analog delay.
